In this role, you'll be at the forefront of deploying our innovative ML solutions in high-stakes environments, working directly with national security customers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of our systems. We want to hear from you if you thrive in fast-paced, challenging environments and are excited about the intersection of advanced technology and critical missions.\nJob Title: Field Engineer\nReporting to: Engineering Operations Manager\nLocation: Geographically flexible for home-office with frequent travel required\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nBe willing and able to travel up to 50% of the year.\nUnderstand customer needs and requirements, providing tailored integration solutions using the Frontline Perception System (FPS).\nIdentify and define integration processes for integrating FPS with existing and emergent systems.\nWrite Software Scripts to enable system integrations and workarounds.\nCollaborate closely with engineering, product, and customer success teams to deliver robust integration solutions.\nConduct on-site assessments and evaluations to understand customer infrastructure and recommend optimal integration strategies.\nDevelop detailed integration plans, timelines, and documentation to guide the implementation process.\nProvide hands-on technical support and training to customers during the integration and deployment phases.\nContinuously gather feedback from customers to iterate and improve integration processes and FPS capabilities.\nEnsure successful field deployments by troubleshooting and resolving integration issues promptly.\nOn a Typical Day You Would:\nProvision and configure FPS deployments for each engagement you are assigned to.\nMeet with customers to gather and understand their specific integration needs and constraints.\nDesign and document a tailored integration process for the customer’s existing or emergent systems.\nWrite a js or python script to route data generated in FPS to a client system via api subscription.\nDeploy and configure FPS on-site, ensuring seamless integration with the customer’s infrastructure.\nProvide technical training and support to customer teams, ensuring they are confident in using FPS.\nCollaborate with internal teams to refine and improve FPS based on field experiences and customer feedback.\nTroubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during integration and deployment.\nDesired Experience and Attributes:\nHigh standard of ethics, grit, integrity, and moral character.\n5+ years of work experience in system integration, preferably within defense or related industries.\nStrong understanding of machine learning concepts and their practical applications.\nGood understanding of networking concepts, LAN vs WAN, ssh, ip, DHCP etc.\nProven experience in integrating complex software systems with existing infrastructure.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in high-pressure environments.\nStrong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.\nWillingness to travel frequently and work on-site with customers as needed.\nA college degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred.\nStartup Culture Expectations:\nWe’re a small, fully remote team, and everything is our responsibility.\nOur team thrives on autonomy, trust, and solid communication.\nEveryone on the Team needs to be very comfortable with constant change, moving fast, sharing failures, embracing grit, and building things themselves.\nEligibility:\nMust be eligible to obtain a clearance with the U.S. government.\nFor internal use during the hiring process:\nDesired Skills:\nExperience in engineering complex production systems.\nProven track record in system integration and deployment.\nExperience working in resource-constrained environments.\nStrong technical documentation and communication skills.\nDesired Attributes:\nStrong interest in understanding and solving customer problems.\nDemonstrable self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving.\nA huge amount of inquisitiveness and interest in how systems work and a willingness to jump in anywhere and spend time debugging.\nCulture Fit:\nHumility around the problem space and the problem set.\nInquisitiveness and interest in meeting customer needs.\nComfortability with a fully-remote position and frequent travel requirements.\nCompensation:\nThe base salary range for this role is $130,000-$185,000.
