As part of our Electrical Engineering team, you’ll help design and build the satellites that make our missions possible. \nAs an Electrical Engineer at Turion Space, you will contribute to the design, integration, and testing of electrical hardware that powers our spacecraft bus and payload systems. You will work hands-on across a wide range of development stages from concept to launch. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to deliver flight-ready electrical systems. This role requires a high level of technical curiosity, a willingness to dive into unfamiliar territory, and the drive to solve complex problems in support of critical space missions.\nThis is a full-time, exempt position based on-site at our Irvine, California headquarters.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and develop high reliability electrical systems and PCBs for satellite devices\n\nDrive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, prototyping, bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, and test\n\nPerform PCB troubleshooting and root cause analysis down to component level\n\nWork on satellite harness definitions and fabrication processes\n\nPrepare fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and general documentation required for design transfer to fabrication and assembly\n\nMaintain and update requirements and design documentation throughout the entire system life cycle\n\nMaintain effective communication with all cross-functional groups to ensure project success\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required\n\n2+ years of hardware development experience in PCB board design and layout and electronic system prototyping and validation\n\nProficiency with design tools for schematic capture\n\nComfortable working in the lab with oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, and logic analyzers\n\nDemonstrates strong technical ability and creativity\n\nVerbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and interact effectively with team members and stakeholders\n\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nPassion for space and curiosity for electronics in high-reliability applications\n\nExperience developing fundamentally new hardware, not just incrementally updating legacy hardware\n\nExperience with circuit simulation tools such as LTSpice\n\nSoldering skills on surface mount and thru-hole components\n\nExperience with switching power supply design\n\nExperience with system verification and validation\n\nEmbedded systems and microcontroller implementation and programming\n\nExperience with common communication busses (I2C, SPI, UART, RS-422/485, CAN, USB, 1000BASE-T, PCIe)\n\nUnderstanding of analog, high speed, and differential signal routing\n\nExperience with high performance digital processors, FPGAs, memory chips, or network switches\n\nExperience with circuit board design-for-manufacturability, productization of electronics\n\nElectrical Engineer Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 USD\nEmployees may be asked to support alternate shifts, extended shifts, and/or travel during peak work periods.\nITAR Requirements:\nThis position may include access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls.
