We build hard things. We build them well. And we're just getting started.\nWe are looking for a dedicated Spacecraft Systems Engineer to join our team in Irvine, CA. The Spacecraft Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing of the whole spacecraft systems and subsystems. This role involves working on all phases of a satellite’s product lifecycle, from proposal and concept through initial and final design to testing and final operations. The Spacecraft Systems Engineer will work to ensure that all the realized system meets the desired function, performance, and reliability of the mission at hand.\nKey Responsibilities\nPush the technical design for critical satellite programs forward\n\nDerivation and maintenance of system requirements to ensure mission success\n\nWorking with internal and external stakeholders to define mission ConOps\n\nDevelopment of subsystem budgets\n\nTest planning for verification activities\n\nCollaboration with the multi-disciplinary experts\n\nTracking of system compliance and overall performance to the desired mission needs\n\nLead teams through technical milestones such as MCR, SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and PSR\n\nAuthor Interface Control Documents (ICD)'s and other documentation necessary for the systems engineering process\n\nInteract directly with customers and/or suppliers to ensure mission success\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field\n\n5+ years of experience in spacecraft systems engineering, spacecraft design, or a related field, with hands-on experience in satellite design and integration.\n\nPrevious experience with the derivation and maintenance of requirements from a system level down to a lower level\n\nAbility to create system level budgets (mass, power, dV, pointing, link, etc.) and track the budget throughout the project lifecycle\n\nProven ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and disciplines\n\nMust be able to obtain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n6+ years of experience in spacecraft systems engineering, Spacecraft design, or a related field, with hands-on experience in satellite design and integration.\n\nExperience with Model Based Systems Engineering and applicable software such as Cameo, Capella, Innoslate, or others\n\nExperience with satellite analysis tools such as Python, Matlab, STK, GMAT, or FreeFlyer\n\nExperience with requirement management tools such as Jama, Doors, Flow, or others\n\nPrevious experience in a startup work environment\n\nFull product lifecycle experience: Initial concept design, preliminary design, manufacturing, testing, and operations\n\nSpacecraft Systems Engineer Salary Range: $125,000 - $175,000 USD\nEmployees may be asked to support alternate shifts, extended shifts, and/or travel during peak work periods.\nITAR Requirements:\nThis position may include access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls.
