This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, effective internal controls, and the development of a high-performing accounting team.\nThe Accounting Manager will oversee monthly and annual close processes, audit activities, financial reporting, budgeting support, and process improvement initiatives. This individual will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to maintain financial integrity, improve operational efficiency, and provide meaningful financial insights to leadership.\nThe ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, proven leadership capabilities, and experience managing accounting functions within a medium-to-large inventory environment. This individual will play an important role in strengthening our financial processes and supporting Turn 14 Distribution's continued growth while upholding our Core Values and commitment to operational excellence.\nKey Responsibilities\nAccounting & Financial Management\nLead monthly and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).\nOversee the accuracy of financial statements, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and balance sheet accounts.\nManage daily accounting operations and multi-entity accounting activities.\nSupport annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.\nPrepare and deliver financial reporting, analysis, and insights to support leadership decision-making.\nLeadership & Team Development\nLead, hire, train, coach, and develop accounting team members.\nEstablish performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and conduct performance reviews.\nFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.\nBuild and maintain strong partnerships across Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Operations, and Leadership.\nPromote and reinforce Turn 14 Distribution's Core Values through daily leadership and decision-making.\nControls, Audit & Compliance\nMaintain effective internal controls and implement practices that safeguard company assets.\nCoordinate annual audits and support ongoing audit, compliance, and financial review requirements.\nOversee sales tax, property tax, 1099 reporting, and other applicable regulatory filings.\nSupport tax planning initiatives and coordinate requests from external tax providers.\nEnsure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.\nFinancial Operations & Strategic Support\nSupport banking and cash management activities, including the administration of loans and lines of credit.\nOversee fixed assets, capitalization, depreciation, lease accounting, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) tracking.\nPartner with Payroll to ensure accurate accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.\nSupport insurance administration, acquisitions, integrations, and other strategic business initiatives.\nIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, automation, reporting, and overall operational efficiency.\nServe as a trusted accounting resource and business partner to leadership and other departments.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.\n5+ years of progressive accounting experience.\n2+ years of leadership or people management experience.\nDemonstrated experience managing month-end close processes, financial reporting, and annual audits.\nExperience working within a medium-to-large inventory environment.\nExperience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience within the distribution industry.\nMulti-entity accounting experience.\nSAP experience.\nExperience supporting acquisitions, organizational growth, or system implementations.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nStrong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.\nProven leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\nAbility to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\nExcellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.\nProficiency with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and advanced Microsoft Excel.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound
