This position provides leadership and direction to mining crews, equipment operators, and support personnel while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.\nThe ideal candidate is an experienced mining professional with a strong background in open-pit or surface mining operations, demonstrated leadership experience, and a track record of successfully managing crews in a production-focused environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupervise and coordinate daily mining operations to achieve production goals safely and efficiently.\nLead, mentor, and develop crews of operators, laborers, and support personnel.\nMonitor productivity, equipment utilization, and workforce performance to maximize operational effectiveness.\nEnsure compliance with all MSHA regulations, company safety policies, and environmental requirements.\nConduct pre-shift meetings, safety briefings, and workplace inspections.\nCoordinate activities with maintenance, processing, geology, engineering, and other departments.\nInvestigate incidents, near misses, and operational issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.\nMonitor and manage workforce scheduling, attendance, and shift coverage.\nTrack operational metrics and prepare reports on production, safety, and workforce performance.\nIdentify and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce operating costs.\nPromote a positive work culture focused on safety, teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.\nRequired Qualifications\nMinimum of 5 years of mining operations experience, preferably in surface or open-pit mining environments.\nMinimum of 3 years of supervisory or crew management experience leading teams in a mining, industrial, or heavy equipment operation.\nProven experience managing multiple employees and contractors in a production environment.\nStrong understanding of surface mining methods, mobile equipment operations, safety practices, and production planning.\nWorking knowledge of MSHA regulations and mining industry best practices.\nDemonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to make sound operational decisions under pressure.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems.\nValid driver's license and ability to obtain site-specific certifications.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious experience in gold mining operations.\nExperience supervising open-pit mining crews.\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field.\nExperience with continuous improvement initiatives, production optimization, and cost control.\nKnowledge of mine planning and equipment performance ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.\nAbility to work rotating schedules, weekends, and holidays as operationally required.\nMust be able to wear required PPE and comply with all mine safety
