Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Manager - Procurement Audit to evaluate procurement processes, ensure compliance with company policies, identify control gaps, and recommend process improvements. The role will work closely with Procurement, Finance, Projects, and Business stakeholders to strengthen procurement governance, mitigate risks, and ensure operational efficiency across sourcing, contracting, purchasing, and vendor management activities.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Audit & Compliance
- Conduct audits of procurement and sourcing activities to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Review procurement transactions, purchase orders, contracts, rate agreements, and vendor selection processes.
- Assess adherence to delegation of authority (DOA), approval matrices, and procurement controls.
- Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, and potential risk areas within procurement operations.
Risk Assessment & Controls
- Evaluate procurement risks related to vendor onboarding, contract management, bidding processes, and purchase execution.
- Perform testing of key procurement controls and monitor corrective actions.
- Review procurement spend patterns and identify exceptions, anomalies, and non-compliance issues.
- Recommend practical control enhancements and process improvements.
Vendor & Contract Audits
- Audit vendor selection, empanelment, evaluation, and performance management processes.
- Review contractual compliance and adherence to agreed commercial terms.
- Verify supporting documentation related to RFQs, bids, negotiations, comparative statements, and approvals.
Data Analytics & Reporting
- Analyze procurement data to identify trends, leakage, savings opportunities, and compliance exceptions.
- Prepare audit reports with findings, root-cause analysis, risk ratings, and actionable recommendations.
- Develop dashboards and MIS reports for management review.
- Track closure of audit observations and remediation plans.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Projects, Legal, and Business teams during audits.
- Conduct audit discussions and closing meetings with stakeholders.
- Support management in implementing best practices and procurement governance frameworks.
Experience
- 5-8 years of experience in Procurement Audit, Internal Audit, Procurement Operations, Supply Chain Controls, or Risk Management.
- Experience in manufacturing, infrastructure, construction, real estate, engineering, EPC, or project-driven organizations preferred.
- Exposure to procurement lifecycle audits, vendor audits, and contract compliance reviews.
