Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Contract Manager, with a Quantity Surveyor background to support major infrastructure, energy and natural resources programmes across the UK. This role will sit within the client team and be responsible for leading contract management and change control activities across complex, high-value contracts while providing robust commercial, cost and quantity surveying expertise.

You will work closely with senior commercial stakeholders, project teams, suppliers and contractors to ensure contract changes are effectively identified, assessed, governed and implemented, while supporting programme objectives, commercial performance, cost certainty and risk management requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the establishment and delivery of major programmes in a fast-paced environment, requiring individuals who are comfortable operating with evolving priorities, ambiguity and complex stakeholder landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead contract management and change control across major projects.
  • Manage contract variations, claims and commercial risk.
  • Oversee supplier performance, governance and compliance.
  • Provide cost, commercial and quantity surveying support.
  • Support procurement, reporting and stakeholder management.
  • Drive value, performance improvement and successful commercial outcomes.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in Contract Management, Commercial Management or Quantity Surveying.
  • Background delivering major Infrastructure or Energy projects.
  • Experience managing complex contracts, change control and commercial risk.
  • Strong cost management, forecasting and commercial reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of NEC3/4 and/or FIDIC contracts.
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Experience working on major infrastructure, energy or government programmes.
  • Strong understanding of commercial governance, procurement and change control processes.
  • Experience managing supplier performance, KPIs and commercial assurance activities.
  • Working knowledge of NEC3, NEC4 and/or FIDIC contracts.
  • Experience leading commercial or quantity surveying workstreams.
  • Professional Chartership (MRICS, MCICES, MCIPS or equivalent).

Qualifications

  • Degree, HNC or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business or a related discipline.
  • Chartered status, or working towards Chartership, is desirable.
