Turner & Townsend is a British professional services firm founded in Leeds in 1946 that manages the cost, programme and delivery of large capital projects on behalf of the organisations paying for them. It works across infrastructure, real estate, energy and natural resources, providing cost management, project controls, programme advisory and contract administration rather than design or construction. Headquartered in Leeds and majority owned by CBRE since 2021, it employs over ten thousand people worldwide and works on many of the largest data centre and infrastructure programmes now under construction.

Turner & Townsend is a global professional services company with over 22,000 people in more than 60 countries.

Working with our clients across real estate, infrastructure, energy and natural resources, we transform together delivering outcomes that improve people’s lives. We are majority-owned by CBRE Group, Inc., the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm, with our partners holding a significant minority interest. Turner & Townsend and CBRE work together to provide clients with the premier programme, project and cost management offering in markets around the world.

Turner & Townsend seeks an experienced Project Manager to support large-scale construction projects. The ideal project manager will be driven to provide our clients with excellent service.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end coordination of Major Capital Equipment (MCE) from initial procurement and order placement through delivery, installation, commissioning, and ready-for-service handover.
  • Act as the primary on-site interface between Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Design, Commercial teams, and equipment suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Drive supplier coordination, issue resolution, schedule management, field support, and commissioning readiness across multiple equipment packages and stakeholders.
  • Provide visibility and escalation management for equipment-related risks, delays, defects, resource constraints, and supplier performance issues to keep projects on track.
  • Ensure equipment vendors have the necessary resources, technicians, parts, spares, documentation, and site access required to support installation and commissioning activities.
  • Operate within the Procurement organization while working day-to-day alongside Construction and project delivery teams on site, acting as the link between commercial and field execution functions.
  • Manage stakeholders including architects, engineers, and supply chains to deliver compliant projects.
  • Can analyze, track, and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slips.
  • Verify that effective project governance, processes, and systems are utilized.
  • Ensure application of best practice on all projects.
  • Production of formal project status reports and other reports as required
  • Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects simultaneously to ensure that the approved design standards are applied correctly.
  • Manage the interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews
  • Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Forecast and update key project milestones and budget.
  • Manage and monitor local design teams in accordance with commission criteria
  • Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders
  • Rapid response to RFIs from the field
  • Provide expertise for cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance where required
  • Independent review of status reports, drawing submittals, timelines, and costs from architects, contractors and suppliers.
  • Client management - assist in developing excellent working relationships with Clients, with a view towards maximizing new opportunities.
  • Strategic Thinking - provides advice to project teams on approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve both clients’ objectives and business objectives.
  • Knowledge management - ensure that key information and learnings generated from each project are captured.
  • Process improvement - Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or field related to construction.
  • Strong organizational and management skills - ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the broader team
  • Strong project manager with experience coordinating complex equipment packages through the full project lifecycle, rather than a pure procurement or construction specialist.
  • Good technical understanding of MEP systems, critical infrastructure equipment, or data center systems, with the credibility to engage suppliers, engineers, and commissioning teams.
  • Highly effective stakeholder manager who can influence and coordinate multiple disciplines, manage competing priorities, and drive accountability across teams.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, and construction project management tools
  • Comfortable working primarily on-site, acting as Client’s field representative for major capital equipment and supporting project delivery activities in real time.
