Turner & Townsend and CBRE work together to provide clients with the premier programme, project and cost management offering in markets around the world\nWho are you?\nYou are an expert Senior Cost Controller with a minimum of 10+ years post-graduate experience looking for the next step or are currently undertaking a similar role in a similar environment.\n The Senior Cost Controller is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing project cost control processes to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets and financial objectives. This role provides leadership in budgeting, forecasting, cost monitoring, change management, reporting, and financial analysis while supporting project teams and senior management with accurate and timely financial information.\nThe position plays a critical role in the Project Controls function by developing and maintaining the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), cost control systems, performance reporting, and change management processes. The Senior Cost Controller ensures alignment between scope, schedule, cost, risk, and contractual requirements throughout the project lifecycle.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop, maintain, and manage project budgets, cost plans, and control frameworks.\nEstablish project cost baselines and monitor performance against approved budgets.\nLead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in accordance with project scope, execution strategy, and contractual requirements.\nDevelop and maintain the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) to support accurate budgeting, cost collection, tracking, forecasting, and reporting.\nLead and coordinate the project Change Management and Change Control processes from identification through approval and implementation.\nAssess the cost and financial impact of proposed changes, trends, and potential change orders.\nMonitor project expenditures, commitments, accruals, and actual costs against approved budgets and control accounts.\nMonitor project performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics, including Cost Performance Index (CPI) and Schedule Performance Index (SPI).\nAnalyze cost variances, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions\nPrepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc cost reports and project performance dashboards.\nDevelop and maintain Estimate at Completion (EAC), Estimate to Complete (ETC), and cash flow forecasts.\nPresent project financial status and forecasts during project review meetings\nWork closely with Project Managers, Planning Engineers, Estimators, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, Construction, and Operations teams.\nMentor and support junior cost control and project controls personnel.\n Education\nBachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related discipline.\nProfessional certifications such as PMP, CCP (Certified Cost Professional), PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional), or equivalent are considered an asset.\nExperience\nMinimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in Cost Control and Project Controls\nExperience supporting large-scale capital projects within Energy, Oil & Gas, Mining, Infrastructure, Utilities, Manufacturing, Construction, or Industrial sectors.\nDemonstrated experience managing multi-million and/or billion-dollar project budgets and forecasts.\n What's in it for you...\n100% covered health and dental benefits for you and your dependents (including paramedical services)\n\nHealth spending account, to top up expenses not covered in the benefits program\n\nRRSP option with company matching\n\nAnnual learning and development budget\n\nAccess to a range of online learning tools, and support for career development and growth\n\nCoverage of one professional membership or license fee per year, if directly related to your role\n\nWe believe in work-life balance, so you can recharge and take care of what matters most with vacation, flex and sick days\n\nA flexible, hybrid work approach that allows colleagues to find balance between their professional and personal lives\n\nCommitment to creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture that promotes a sense of belonging\n\nOur inspired people share our vision and mission.
