We are looking for a Senior FP&A Analyst to partner with our Technology and Product functions, providing high-quality financial insight and commercial challenge to support better business decisions.

This is a broad role that sits within the FP&A team and will allow the successful candidate to be part of a fast based educational software business with financial, operational and commercial exposure.

You will work closely with Technology and Product leaders on budgets, monthly forecasts, reporting, commentary and various ad-hoc projects.

A key part of the role will also be to partner with the Accounting team to ensure that costs are correctly captured, accruals and provisions are complete, and that the financial results accurately reflect the underlying activity of the Technology and Product functions.

It is imperative that the successful candidate has recent experience of working as an analyst or senior analyst. Previous accounting experience is preferred but not essential.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Partner with the Accounting team to ensure costs are recorded accurately.
  • Review monthly results and investigate unusual movement and variances.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the underlying financial transactions and ensure reported results accurately reflect the business activity.
  • Provide a high-quality end to end financial business partnering, by providing expert financial advice and challenging the management team to support decision making.
  • Preparation and ownership of monthly forecasting and management reports as part of the wider FP&A team.
  • Providing value-adding financial insight, support, and challenge by building effective working relationships at all levels, including senior managers and with other departments in the business.
  • Supporting stakeholders and senior management with financial analysis to aid decision making.
  • Supporting the annual budget process for your business areas in line with the overall Finance timeline.
  • Maintain and enhance financial controls ensuring accuracy and robustness of reporting and continue to develop reporting for this business area.
  • Identify and implement improvements to business processes to increase efficiency.
  • Support ad hoc requests for analysis and information.
  • Analyse spend, headcount, vendor costs and investment across Technology and Product, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with Technology and Product leadership teams and become a trusted financial advisor.

You will proactively seek opportunities to raise standards, and drive continual improvement throughout the business. The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • 3+ yrs relevant work experience in a Finance department.
  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified/Part Qualified.
  • Strong Excel skills and aptitude for using other reporting tools and software.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, resourcefulness, and ability to follow-through.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to work cross-functionally and as well as independently.
  • Strong team player and ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage tight deadlines.
