Role Summary\nWe are looking for a Junior Service Technician to support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of Lithium-ion battery packs, ESS/BESS systems, UPS/inverters, and associated electrical equipment.\nThe candidate will work closely with service engineers, battery engineers, BMS teams, and customers to ensure reliable and safe operation of deployed battery systems.\n2. Key Responsibilities\nA. Installation & Commissioning\nSupport installation of lithium-ion battery packs, ESS units, BMS, UPS/inverters, cables, connectors, and protection devices.\nPerform basic electrical wiring and termination as per approved drawings.\nAssist in battery pack installation, commissioning, and functional testing.\nVerify polarity, voltage, communication connections, grounding, and protection devices.\nSupport inverter-battery communication configuration.\nRecord commissioning parameters and test results.\nB. Troubleshooting & Service\nDiagnose basic electrical, BMS, inverter, charging, and communication issues.\nPerform first-level troubleshooting of:\nBMS alarms and faults\nCell over-voltage / under-voltage\nOver-temperature / under-temperature\nOver-current protection\nCommunication failures\nCharging/discharging issues\nInverter/UPS faults\nContactor, fuse, MCB and wiring issues\nUse Multimeter, DC clamp meter, insulation tester, Peak CAN, CAN/RS485 tools and other service equipment.\nEscalate complex electrical, BMS, firmware, or software issues to senior engineers.\nReplace defective components/modules under approved service procedures.\nC. Preventive Maintenance\nConduct scheduled inspection of deployed battery systems.\nCheck:\nBattery voltage\nCell voltage spread\nTemperature\nSOC/SOH\nBMS status\nCharging/discharging current\nCable and connector condition\nFuse/MCB/contactor condition\nEarthing\nCooling/ventilation\nPhysical condition of the battery enclosure\nCarry out preventive maintenance according to service checklists.\nD. Battery & BMS Support\nMonitor battery pack parameters through BMS software/dashboard.\nDownload and analyse basic BMS logs.\nIdentify abnormal cell voltage, temperature, current and SOC behavior.\nSupport BMS configuration and parameter verification under engineering supervision.\nAssist with firmware updates and communication testing where authorized.\nFollow battery isolation and electrical safety procedures before service activities.\nE. Customer & Field Support\nAttend customer complaints and field service calls.\nExplain basic operating and maintenance procedures to customers.\nProvide first-level technical support over phone/video when required.\nMaintain professional communication with customers and site personnel.\nTravel to customer locations for installation, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.\nF. Documentation & Reporting\nMaintain service reports, installation reports and commissioning records.\nRecord battery serial numbers, BMS IDs, inverter details and replaced components.\nMaintain fault history and corrective-action records.\nUpdate service tickets after every field visit.\nMaintain spare-parts and service-tool records.\nEscalate recurring failures to the Service Engineer / Engineering team.\n3. Required Technical Skills\nBasic knowledge of DC electrical systems and lithium-ion batteries.\nUnderstanding of battery pack series/parallel configurations.\nBasic understanding of BMS operation and protection functions.\nKnowledge of voltage, current, power, energy and electrical measurements.\nBasic understanding of UPS, inverter and charger systems.\nAbility to read electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.\nBasic knowledge of CAN / RS485 / Modbus communication is preferred.\nFamiliarity with Multimeter and DC clamp meter.\nBasic computer skills for service reports and BMS software.\nAbility to perform systematic electrical troubleshooting.\n4. Safety Responsibilities\nThe technician must strictly follow battery and electrical safety procedures.\nFollow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures before working on equipment.\nVerify DC voltage before touching or disconnecting conductors.\nUse appropriate PPE and insulated tools.\nNever bypass BMS protections, fuses, contactors or safety interlocks without authorization.\nNever short-circuit battery terminals.\nFollow battery handling, transportation and emergency procedures.\nImmediately report damaged, swollen, overheated, leaking or abnormal battery packs.\nMaintain safe working distance and follow site-specific electrical safety requirements.\nDo not perform unauthorized modifications to battery packs or BMS parameters.\n5. Educational Qualification\nPreferred:\nITI - Electrical / Electronics / Electrician\nDiploma - Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Instrumentation\nDiploma/ITI candidates with relevant battery, UPS, inverter or EV experience may also be considered.\n6. Experience\n0-2 years of experience in any of the following areas is preferred:\nLithium-ion battery service\nEV battery packs\nBMS\nUPS/inverter service\nSolar/ESS systems\nElectrical equipment maintenance\nIndustrial electronics\nField service\nFreshers with strong electrical fundamentals and hands-on skills may also be considered.\n7. Behavioural Competencies\nStrong hands-on approach and willingness to work at customer sites.\nGood troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.\nSafety-conscious attitude.\nAbility to follow SOPs and checklists.\nGood communication and customer-handling skills.\nWillingness to travel.\nAbility to work independently as well as with engineering teams.\nGood documentation discipline.\n8.
