For more information, visit turntide.com.\n Job Overview\nWe are hiring for an electrical hardware engineer to carry out hardware development for power electronics projects for automotive and industrial electrification.\nThe role is based at our site in Gateshead and reports into the Head of Hardware and Regulatory.\nKey Responsibilities\nIn this role the Electrical Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the following:\nWork in a team of engineers with various disciplines\nDevelop power electronics for use in automotive and industrial applications\nInterpret system specifications to produce hardware functional specifications\nCarry out circuit design, analysis, documentation, simulation, testing and debugging\nType testing and writing of procedures\nSupervision and guidance of technicians\nSupporting other engineering disciplines for hardware design related issues\nEnsuring that hardware design follows the company hardware and quality processes and procedures\nEnsuring that hardware design meets relevant national and international standards\nEnsuring designs meet hardware product safety standards\nThe Requirements\nWe’re looking for candidates with the following experience and skills:\nDemonstratable experience in an electrical engineer position or recent graduate\nAble to follow design processes to assure quality of hardware design and development\nDesign experience in electronics\nHands on debugging and analysis of hardware\nSupporting or creating PCB layouts and schematic capture\nGood understanding of electronic principals\nAnalysis to component level on electronic hardware\nBonus Points\nIt would also be great (but not essential) if in addition to the above you also had:\nAnalogue electronics, signal acquisition and conditioning\nLow power SMPS design\nDigital electronics, microcontrollers, logic circuits and similar\nSimulation of electronic circuits\nPCB layout and design\nAnalysis skills such as FMEA, FTA, tolerance analysis, thermal analysis, etc.\nDevelopment to relevant standards such as REG10, REG100, ISO16750, CISPR 25, EN61800\nQualifications\nA degree or equivalent in the following discipline is required: Electrical and Electronics Engineering.\nRelevant experience could also be considered.\nTurntide Technologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
