As a Senior HR Generalist, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the employee experience and partnering with leaders to drive a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth.\nThis position is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, loves solving complex challenges, and wants to make a real impact. You’ll combine hands-on HR expertise with strategic partnership, ensuring compliance, fostering engagement, and aligning HR initiatives with Turtle’s business goals. This position is based in New Jersey at our corporate office in Clark, NJ.\nWhat You'll Do:\nServe as the go-to resource for employee relations, leading investigations and ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes.\nPartner with managers and leaders to provide coaching and guidance across all areas of the HR function, including performance management, employee relations, workforce planning, talent development, engagement strategies, organizational design, and change management initiatives, while effectively navigating and supporting operations within a union/non-union environment.\nAnalyze trends and recommend proactive strategies to strengthen engagement and minimize risk.\nSupport HR programs including policy development, compliance training, and organizational development initiatives.\nCollaborate with managers/leadership to implement the strategic plan as set by the VP of HR, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.\nMaintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.\nAdminister and coordinate Workers’ Compensation claims, leave of absence programs (FMLA, ADA, state-specific), and serve as a liaison for workplace safety initiatives to ensure compliance and employee well-being.\nSupport talent acquisition efforts by partnering with hiring managers to ensure a seamless candidate experience.\nAnalyze HR metrics and workforce data using Excel, analytics tools, and Power BI to identify trends, improve processes, and provide actionable insights to leadership.\nChampion employee engagement and culture initiatives, including recognition programs, DEI efforts, and feedback mechanisms to foster a positive work environment.\nLeverage ADP Compensation Services for payroll and compensation-related processes.\nUtilize Freshservice ticketing system to manage and resolve HR support requests efficiently.\nWork effectively within a matrix organization and collaborate across multiple time zones, within the US, Canada and Mexico.\nWhat You'll Bring\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree or HR certification preferred. \nKnowledge: Strong understanding of employment law, HR best practices, and regulatory compliance. \n Skills:Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nAbility to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.\nConflict resolution and negotiation skills.\nProfessional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred.\nProficiency in HRIS systems (preferably ADP or similar), including experience with ADP Comprehensive Services.\nAdvanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with strong Excel capabilities for analytics and reporting.\nAbility to leverage data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI to provide actionable insights.\nFamiliarity with ticketing systems, preferably FreshService, for managing HR support requests.\nAbilities:Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.\nBuild trust and credibility across all levels of the organization.\n\nWhat We Offer\nWe offer a competitive benefits package that includes:\n401(k) plan\nHealth insurance\nDental insurance\nVision insurance\nLife insurance\nPaid holidays\nVacation\nEmployee negotiated discounts\nWho We Are\nFounded in 1923, Turtle is a fourth-generation, family-owned, and three-generation women-owned business, and one of the nation’s largest independent electrical and industrial distributors.
