Always.\nWe are seeking a highly experienced Network Engineer with deep expertise in the Fortinet security ecosystem to design, implement, secure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure. This role requires advanced hands-on skills with FortiGate firewalls and the broader Fortinet Security Fabric, along with strong troubleshooting ability in complex, multi-site environments. This engineer designs and operates resilient, secure networks at scale and brings a strong automation-first mindset. You’ll own complex network architecture and delivery, mentor junior engineers, and serve as an escalation point for the toughest issues.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, deploy, and manage FortiGate next-generation firewalls (NGFW) across data center, campus, cloud, and branch environments\nConfigure and maintain FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer for centralized policy management, logging, and reporting\nArchitect and support SD-WAN deployments using FortiGate SD-WAN capabilities, including performance-based routing and application steering\nImplement and manage site-to-site and remote-access VPNs (IPsec, SSL-VPN)\nConfigure and troubleshoot routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) in conjunction with FortiGate deployments\nManage the broader Fortinet Security Fabric: FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiClient EMS, FortiAuthenticator, FortiSandbox, FortiWeb, FortiADC\nDevelop and enforce firewall policies, NAT rules, security profiles (IPS, AV, web filtering, application control)\nLead network segmentation initiatives, including Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) implementation\nPerform firmware upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management across the Fortinet estate\nConduct root-cause analysis for complex network/security incidents; provide Tier 3/4 escalation support\nSupport compliance and audit requirements (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2, NIST) as they relate to firewall/network configuration\nCreate and maintain network diagrams, configuration standards, and runbooks\nCollaborate with security operations (SOC) teams on threat detection, incident response, and log analysis\nMentor junior engineers and contribute to change management/CAB processes\nParticipate in on-call rotation for infrastructure support\nRequired Qualifications\n7-10+ years of network engineering experience, with 5+ years focused specifically on Fortinet products\n2+ years in a client-facing management or account management capacity.\nNSE 4 certification required; NSE 5-7 (or higher) strongly preferred\nExpert-level knowledge of FortiOS configuration (CLI and GUI)\nStrong understanding of TCP/IP, routing/switching, VLANs, VPNs, and network security fundamentals\nHands-on experience with FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiGate HA clustering\nExperience with SD-WAN design and implementation\nFamiliarity with cloud-based FortiGate deployments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)\nScripting/automation experience (Python, Ansible, or REST API) for Fortinet device management is a plus\nStrong documentation and communication skills\nBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience\nProven ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously with competing priorities.\nStrong understanding of ITIL framework and IT service management principles.\nExperience with PSA tools (e.g., ConnectWise Manage) for ticket queues.\nExceptional communication skills - written and verbal - with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.\nDemonstrated ability to work across teams in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong analytical skills with experience interpreting service metrics and driving data-informed decisions.\nPreferred Qualifications\nNSE 7 (Enterprise Firewall) or NSE 8\nCCNP or CCIE (Cisco) as complementary networking credentials\nCISSP or similar security certification\nITIL v4 Foundation certification or higher.\nPrior experience working within an MSP or technology services organization.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4346,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":7,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Managed IT Services (MSP)","Cloud Consulting & Migration"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-30T04:01:32Z"}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":1,"expected_fill_days":17,"reasons":["conf:2","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":120000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/tusker-managed-services-network-engineer-fortinet","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/tusker-managed-services-network-engineer-fortinet.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-02T01:44:58Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":2274,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":2726,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-03T00:00:00Z"}}}
