Five Star Electric’s name reflects its promise - to continually achieve the highest “five-star” ranking on every project.\nAcross New York State our notable projects include, the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, the Hudson Yards Platform, Madison Square Garden Transformation, Citi Field, 86th Street Station and multiple United Nations projects.\nExtraordinary Projects need Exceptional Talent\nJob Description:\nAs an Assistant Project Manager (APM) at Five Star Electric, reporting to the Project Executive, you will have the opportunity to:\nProject Coordination & Administration\nAssist Project Manager with daily management of electrical construction projects.\nSupport project planning, scheduling, and execution activities.\nMaintain project documentation including contracts, drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.\nTrack project milestones and assist in monitoring schedule performance.\nCoordinate communication between field staff, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.\nCost Control & Financial Management\nAssist with project budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.\nHelp prepare monthly cost reports and project status updates.\nReview vendor and subcontractor invoices for accuracy and approval.\nSupport change order pricing, tracking, and documentation.\nMonitor material and labor costs against project budgets.\nProcurement & Subcontractor Coordination\nAssist with material procurement and equipment tracking.\nCoordinate delivery schedules to align with project timelines.\nSolicit vendor pricing and prepare purchase orders.\nMaintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.\nTechnical & Document Control\nReview electrical drawings and specifications for completeness.\nProcess and track RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.\nEnsure compliance with contract documents and project requirements.\nMaintain organized electronic and physical project files.\nField & Safety Supportcccc\nCoordinate with field supervisors and foremen regarding project progress.\nParticipate in project meetings and site walks as required.\nSupport adherence to company safety policies and OSHA requirements.\nAssist with resolving field issues impacting schedule or productivity.\nClient & Stakeholder Communication\nParticipate in owner and subcontractor coordination meetings.\nProvide timely updates to project stakeholders.\nHelp maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.\nREQUIREMENTS:\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.\n1-3+ years of experience in construction project coordination or electrical contracting preferred.\nInternship or field experience with an electrical contractor strongly required/preferred.\nBasic understanding of electrical construction methods and systems.\nAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.\nFamiliarity with construction project lifecycle and documentation.\nStrong organizational and multitasking skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication abilities.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).\nExperience with project management software (Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar) preferred.\nBluebeam or document control software experience a plus.\nExcellent written and verbal skills\nOUR MISSION\nWe build critical infrastructure that creates a better world.\nOUR VISION\nWe strive to be the preeminent full-service civil, building, and specialty contractor by delivering innovative, transformative projects through world-class execution.
