Our goal is to be the industry’s best source, and best value, for complete turn-key construction, engineering and design-build services and related products.\nNotable public and private sector clients include major transportation authorities in Los Angeles, New York, and Seattle; Gateway Development Commission; public works authorities in New York, Los Angeles, and Vancouver; Federal agencies; and mining clients for gold, copper, potash, salt, and coal.\nExtraordinary Projects need Exceptional Talent\nDESCRIPTION:\nAs an Estimator I at Frontier-Kemper, you will have the opportunity to:\nAssist with organizing and managing the bid process in conjunction with the Estimating Manager\n\nReview and analyze bid documents to develop project labor, materials, and equipment requirements and costs\n\nTravel to attend pre-bid meetings and site visits while establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, engineers, and consultants\n\nConsult with suppliers and subcontractors during the bidding process to determine costs\n\nAssist with the technical proposals and presentations\n\nAssist with the preparation of post-bid work plans, procurement, scheduling, and cost control\n\nActively participate in production tracking and post-job analysis\n\nAssist with maintaining date base of historical estimates and project information records\n\nREQUIREMENTS:\nA bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management is required\n\n2 + years experience in heavy civil, mining, construction or a related area with good working knowledge of general engineering applications and construction practices\n\nPrevious experience with field engineering, estimating, project scheduling, and technical writing required\n\nStrong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office products, civil estimating software (preferably HCSS), and scheduling software (preferably Primavera P6).\n\nEffective written communication, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills\n\nAbility to perform a variety of tasks and manage those tasks concurrently within firm timelines\n\nAbility to read and understand construction documents including contracts, specifications, and drawings\n\nAttention to detail with an emphasis on time management and organizational skills\n\nAbility to function effectively within a team atmosphere\n\nAbility to travel overnight as needed on an infrequent basis\n\nAbility and willingness to visit sites (mines and tunnels) within an underground environment\n\nOUR MISSION\nWe build critical infrastructure that creates a better world.\nOUR VISION\nWe strive to be the preeminent full-service civil, building, and specialty contractor by delivering innovative, transformative projects through world-class execution.
