TPC- Building Projects is seeking a General Superintendent to join the project in Brooklyn, NY\nAbout Brooklyn Jail Project\nExtraordinary Projects, Exceptional Performance\nThe approximate $3B project scope includes design and construction of a new state-of-the-art facility. The facility will contain 1,040 beds for men, programmatic elements such as a gymnasium, multi-purpose rooms, and educational and workforce development spaces.\nIn addition, the facility will provide 30,000 square feet of community facility space, a below-grade tunnel connection to the Kings County Criminal Court building, a secured entry (sally port), and 100 accessory below-grade parking spaces for all staff and service providers.\nExtraordinary Projects need Exceptional Talent\nPosition Overview\nThe Construction General Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day on-site operations for the construction of a new jail facility. This role ensures the project is built safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with design specifications, security requirements, and all applicable regulations. The Superintendent leads field staff and subcontractors, coordinates with project management, and maintains a strong focus on quality, safety, and compliance.\nJob Description:\nField Leadership & Coordination\nDirect, coordinate, and supervise all on-site construction activities for the jail project.\nManage and schedule subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to ensure efficient workflow.\nConduct daily meetings and briefings with crews to outline tasks, safety requirements, and goals.\nMaintain a safe, organized, and compliant job site at all times.\nSecurity & Compliance\nEnsure all construction activities comply with correctional facility security standards and protocols.\nCoordinate with law enforcement, detention facility officials, and security consultants on access control, restricted areas, and specialized building requirements.\nEnforce strict adherence to state, federal, and local building codes.\nQuality Assurance & Control\nMonitor workmanship, materials, and installation to ensure compliance with specifications and drawings.\nConduct regular inspections and document quality control activities.\nAddress deficiencies promptly and coordinate corrective actions.\nSchedule & Documentation\nMaintain the construction schedule and adjust field operations to ensure timely progress.\nPrepare daily reports, logs, photos, and documentation of job site activities.\nAssist project management with look-ahead schedules, logistics planning, and progress updates.\nSafety Management\nEnforce company and OSHA safety policies and ensure all personnel follow safety protocols.\nConduct toolbox talks, safety inspections, and incident reporting.\nPromote a safety-first culture among all workers on the job site.\nCommunication\nServe as the primary on-site contact between subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and the project management team.\nAttend project coordination meetings and provide field-level insights and updates.\nCommunicate effectively with stakeholders, including owner representatives and correctional agency personnel.\nQualifications\n20+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial or institutional construction (correctional facilities preferred).\nStrong knowledge of structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems.\nExperience managing complex, secure, or high-risk construction environments.\nProven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.\nExcellent leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.\nStrong understanding of OSHA safety regulations.\nProficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam).\nHigh School Diploma required.\nExcellent communication skills\nOUR MISSION\nWe build critical infrastructure that creates a better world.\nOUR VISION\nWe strive to be the preeminent full-service civil, building, and specialty contractor by delivering innovative, transformative projects through world-class execution.
