This role involves analyzing drawings and specifications, coordinating with project teams, and developing detailed bids for commercial, industrial, and/or institutional projects. The Senior Estimator also mentors junior estimators and helps refine estimating processes and standards.\nJob Description:\nLead the preparation of detailed electrical estimates for large and complex projects\n\nReview project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine scope and requirements\n\nPerform quantity take-offs for electrical systems including power, lighting, low voltage, and special systems\n\nSolicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes\n\nDevelop labor, material, and equipment cost estimates\n\nIdentify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies\n\nConduct risk analysis and ensure all project factors are considered in pricing\n\nPrepare bid proposals and participate in bid reviews and presentations\n\nCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients during preconstruction\n\nMaintain and update cost databases and estimating tools\n\nSupport project handoff to operations teams after award\n\nMentor and train junior estimating staff\n\nRequirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)\n\n5+ years of electrical estimating experience, preferably with an electrical contractor\n\nStrong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and construction practices\n\nProven experience estimating commercial and/or industrial projects\n\nProficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst, or similar)\n\nStrong understanding of labor units, productivity rates, and material pricing\n\nAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications\n\nExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills\n\nExperience with design-build and design-assist projects\n\nKnowledge of BIM and digital takeoff tools\n\nStrong negotiation and vendor management skills\n\nAbility to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously\n\nLeadership and team development experience\n\nOUR MISSION\nWe build critical infrastructure that creates a better world.\nOUR VISION\nWe strive to be the preeminent full-service civil, building, and specialty contractor by delivering innovative, transformative projects through world-class execution.
