The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural and miscellaneous steel erection, coordination with fabricators and erectors, and ensuring all steel work complies with project specifications, safety standards, and schedules.\nJob Description:\nSteel Work Oversight: Supervise and coordinate the erection of structural and miscellaneous steel components, including beams, columns, trusses, braces, stairs, railings, and connections.\n\nProject Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and accurate installation of steel materials.\n\nSite Management: Oversee daily field operations specific to steel work; monitor labor productivity, equipment usage, and safety compliance.\n\nQuality Assurance: Ensure steel erection meets all quality standards, codes, and project specifications. Conduct inspections and verify tolerances, alignments, and connections.\n\nScheduling & Planning: Develop and maintain short-term and long-term schedules for steel activities in coordination with overall project timelines.\n\nSafety Compliance: Enforce site safety protocols and promote a strong safety culture among steel crews. Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.\n\nProblem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve field issues related to steel erection, including clashes, fabrication errors, or design discrepancies.\n\nDocumentation: Maintain daily reports, logs, and inspection records. Track progress against the schedule and document delays or issues as needed.\n\nStakeholder Communication: Act as a key liaison between field crews, project management, and design teams related to steel construction activities.\n\nRequirements:\n10+ years of experience in civil or structural construction with a focus on steel erection\n\nProven experience as a superintendent or foreman on steel-intensive projects\n\nIn-depth knowledge of structural steel systems, drawings, welding, and bolting standards\n\nProven experience on movable bridge projects (bascule, swing, or lift bridges required)\n\nFamiliarity with AISC standards, steel erection sequencing, and rigging practices\n\nAbility to read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications\n\nStrong leadership and communication skills\n\nOSHA 30 Certification (preferred)\n\nNCCER or other steel erection certifications (a plus)\n\nProficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite\n\nCivil infrastructure projects such as bridges, industrial facilities, or heavy civil works\n\nCoordinating steel with concrete and other trades on complex sites\n\nWorking with union and non-union labor forces\n\nOUR MISSION\nWe build critical infrastructure that creates a better world.\nOUR VISION\nWe strive to be the preeminent full-service civil, building, and specialty contractor by delivering innovative, transformative projects through world-class execution.
