At Tutor Perini Civil you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of large, high-profile, projects that impact your community.\nExtraordinary Projects need Exceptional Talent\nPosition Overview\nWe are seeking an experienced Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Manager to lead digital delivery on a large, complex infrastructure project with stringent technical, coordination, and security requirements. This role is responsible for overseeing all BIM/VDC activities across the project lifecycle while ensuring compliance with owner standards, construction schedules, and asset management deliverables.\nThe VDC Manager will manage the project VDC team, including a dedicated BIM Specialist and junior VDC engineers. While this is a leadership position, it also requires a manager who is comfortable remaining closely engaged with the technical work, particularly on complex, high-risk, or time-sensitive efforts.\nJob Description:\nVDC & BIM Leadership\nLead all Virtual Design & Construction activities in accordance with project-specific BIM/VDC requirements, standards, and execution plans.\nServe as the primary point of contact for BIM/VDC coordination with the Owner and key project stakeholders.\nDevelop, maintain, and enforce the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), ensuring consistent application across all disciplines and partners.\nOversee the development and coordination of discipline models, federated models, and construction models throughout all phases of the project.\nTechnical Oversight & Contribution\nMaintain a working familiarity with active models, coordination issues, and digital workflows to ensure quality and continuity.\nProvide direct technical support or contribution when project complexity, schedule demands, or risk warrant closer involvement.\nSupport model federation, coordination reviews, and resolution of complex or escalated issues.\n Guide refinement of BIM/VDC workflows, standards, and deliverables to meet project and owner expectations.\nCoordination, Constructability & Digital Delivery\nLead 3D coordination and clash detection processes across all disciplines and trade partners.\nFacilitate regular coordination meetings and ensure timely issue resolution.\nOversee 4D and 5D modeling efforts supporting construction sequencing, logistics planning, progress tracking, and reporting.\nEnsure digital models accurately reflect construction means, methods, and verified field conditions.\nConstruction Phase & Turnover\nManage monthly and milestone BIM/VDC deliverables, including progress models, federated coordination models, and construction simulations.\nEnsure appropriate quality control is applied to all BIM/VDC deliverables prior to submission.\nOversee development of accurate as-built / as-constructed models suitable for owner turnover and asset management integration.\n Coordinate validation activities, including integration of survey and laser scan data where required.\nTeam Leadership & Development\nManage and mentor a dedicated BIM Specialist and junior VDC Engineers.\nSupport knowledge transfer and skill development through structured tasks, reviews, and collaboration.\nContribute to the growth and maturity of the organization’s VDC practices, standards, and internal capabilities.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelors degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering or related field from an accredited institution.\n5+ years of experience on large, complex construction or infrastructure projects.\n3+ years of experience leading BIM/VDC workflows for design and construction.\nDemonstrated ability to balance strategic oversight with appropriate technical engagement.\nStrong understanding of BIM methodologies, coordination workflows, and Level of Development (LOD) standards.\nProficiency with industry-standard tools such as Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Synchro 4D, and common data environments.\nExperience working in environments with strict documentation, quality control, and security requirements.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills.\nExperience on high-security, mission-critical, or operationally sensitive projects, such as transportation facilities, aviation, utilities, government, or other controlled infrastructure.\nExperience mentoring junior engineers or supporting structured development programs.\nFamiliarity with asset management integration and digital handover requirements.\nBackground in civil infrastructure, transportation, or heavy construction.\nOUR MISSION\nWe build critical infrastructure that creates a better world.\nOUR VISION\nWe strive to be the preeminent full-service civil, building, and specialty contractor by delivering innovative, transformative projects through world-class execution.
