Instead, we rely on a team of professional recruiters to handle application reviews, interviews, and qualification assessments, ensuring a personal and thorough approach.\nLocation: Athens, Greece\nType: Full time - Contract\nIndustry: Industrial\nJob Summary\nAs a Civil/Structural Lead Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for civil and structural engineering activities supporting industrial projects from concept through detailed design, construction, and commissioning. Based in our Athens, Greece office, you will lead engineering deliverables, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure designs meet applicable codes, client requirements, quality standards, and project objectives. The role will involve collaboration with regional and global project teams and may support a range of industrial facilities and infrastructure projects.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Leadership\nLead civil and structural engineering activities across industrial projects, from early design through construction support.\nEstablish design approaches, technical criteria, and engineering deliverables in alignment with project requirements.\nReview and approve calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and other technical documentation.\nProvide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and designers within the discipline.\nIdentify technical risks, develop appropriate engineering solutions, and support resolution of complex design issues.\nProject DeliveryPlan and manage civil/structural engineering scope, deliverables, budgets, schedules, and resources.\nCoordinate engineering activities with project managers, clients, contractors, and other disciplines.\nMonitor progress and ensure deliverables are completed to agreed quality, cost, and schedule requirements.\nSupport project execution through design reviews, constructability assessments, site support, and resolution of technical queries.\nContribute to proposals, estimates, technical scopes, and project execution strategies.\nCivil & Structural EngineeringDevelop and oversee designs for industrial buildings, foundations, equipment supports, steel and reinforced concrete structures, and associated civil infrastructure.\nApply relevant international and local design codes, standards, and regulations.\nCoordinate interfaces between structural systems, architectural requirements, process equipment, mechanical systems, and site infrastructure.\nReview geotechnical information and incorporate applicable requirements into structural and civil design solutions.\nSupport value engineering, optimization, and constructability initiatives.\nQuality, Safety & ComplianceEnsure engineering work complies with applicable legislation, codes, standards, client specifications, and internal quality procedures.\nParticipate in design reviews, technical audits, and quality assurance activities.\nPromote safe-by-design principles and identify potential engineering and construction risks.\nMaintain accurate technical records and ensure appropriate checking and approval processes are followed.\nQualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline; a Master’s degree is advantageous.\nProfessional engineering registration or equivalent qualification is preferred.\n10+ years of relevant civil/structural engineering experience, including significant experience leading engineering activities on industrial projects.\nProven experience with industrial facilities, infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or other process-oriented environments is preferred.\nExperience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinating technical interfaces across complex projects.\nStrong knowledge of structural and civil design principles, applicable international standards, and relevant local requirements in Greece and/or Europe.\nExperience with structural analysis, design, detailing, and civil engineering design appropriate to industrial facilities.\nProficiency with relevant engineering design, analysis, BIM/CAD, and project documentation software; specific software platforms may vary by project.\nStrong technical writing, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality engineering work within project schedules and budgets.\nProfessional working proficiency in English; proficiency in Greek is advantageous.\nWillingness to collaborate with international teams and support projects across multiple locations.\nNote: This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the position and is not exhaustive.
