Our team is dedicated to providing clients with effective business and technical solutions through exceptional levels of service, innovation and flexibility.\nTWD is currently seeking an Intermediate Process Engineer in our Pittsburgh, PA office.\nJob Summary:\nThe Intermediate Process Engineer provides engineering support by applying our client’s best practices and engineering standards to the early stage of project development. They provide technical support for all project phases for effective project development and performance. Must be able to develop process design packages that lead to more profitable and reliable operation of refinery process units. Must be able to evaluate the feasibility and profitability of process designs and justify refinery capital projects.\nJob Description:\nPerform Process Engineering design and studies throughout all stages of the project lifecycle. Develop front end designs in accordance with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S), Process Safety Management (PSM) and other regulatory requirements.\nEnsure project deliverables meet quality, client’s engineering specification/standards, Industry standards and cost and schedule requirements of a project\nSpecify and size piping and equipment and develop datasheets (including instrumentation)\nDevelop/redline process PFD and P&IDs\nEvaluate pressure relief valves and sizing scenarios\nEvaluate equipment bid summaries, purchase requisitions, inspection test plans to confirm equipment meets the design intent \n\nReview engineering FEED and IFC deliverables for technical accuracy and compliance with client and industry standards\nDevelop and sustain internal and external customer relationships to ensure appropriate stakeholders are aligned with process designs. Continue to work with operations and support the project through construction and commissioning/start-up\nParticipate in and offer advice during process hazard analysis (PHA) or layers of protection analysis (LOPA) for small capital projects\nDevelops input for early stages of the project estimates\nPromotes continuous improvement throughout the project’s life cycle; including lessons learned\nDemonstrate a safety mindset both on and off the job\nMinimum requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering\nA deep understanding of refinery operations and project economics4-9 years process engineering experience; \nThree or more years of operations experience\nAt least two years of project experience\n\nPreference for:\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization\nEffective leadership skills to build/contribute to strong, highly productive teams\nA self-starter who can work independently with minimal guidance\nThe ability to assess new technologies for applicability to process unit improvements\nThe ability to anticipate potential problems in the design and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions\nFamiliarity with process safety management\nComputer literate in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software applications (PI Process Book, Knowledge Management System (KMS) , Siemen’s Relief Valve Program (PSPPM), SAP)\nAbility to build and use Aspentech’s HYSYS (EDR) process models\nAbility to integrate and balance big-picture concerns with day-to-day activities\nAbility to resolve conflicts and use a collaboration approach to maintain positive relationships and work towards solutions under difficult circumstance\nIf you would like to apply for this position, respond directly to this ad for consideration.
