Though we thank all applicants that apply for this role, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.\nPosition Overview:\nAs a Mechanical Engineer in our Pittsburgh office, you will provide engineering design, analysis, and technical support for projects within the energy and infrastructure sectors. You will work as part of multidisciplinary project teams to develop practical, efficient, and code-compliant mechanical systems and solutions. Depending on experience level, you will contribute to or lead technical activities, coordinate engineering deliverables, support project execution, and provide technical guidance to less-experienced team members.\nKey Responsibilities\nMechanical Engineering & Design\nPerform and oversee mechanical engineering design and analysis for energy and infrastructure projects.\nDevelop and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, technical reports, and design documentation.\nDesign and evaluate mechanical systems and equipment appropriate to project requirements, including piping, HVAC, equipment, utilities, and related systems.\nDevelop equipment specifications, data sheets, schedules, and technical procurement documentation.\nApply applicable mechanical codes, standards, regulations, and client requirements to engineering work.\nEvaluate existing mechanical systems and facilities and develop recommendations for modifications, upgrades, repairs, or replacement.\nReview engineering deliverables for technical accuracy, constructability, quality, and compliance with project requirements.\nProject & Multidisciplinary CoordinationCoordinate mechanical engineering activities with civil, structural, electrical, process, controls, and other project disciplines.\nSupport or lead development of project scopes, schedules, estimates, and technical deliverables.\nParticipate in design reviews, interdisciplinary coordination meetings, and technical discussions.\nCoordinate with equipment vendors, manufacturers, contractors, fabricators, and other third parties.\nReview vendor documentation, equipment data, and technical submittals for compliance with project requirements.\nProvide technical input to resolve design, construction, and field-related issues.\nTechnical LeadershipServe as a technical resource for project teams on mechanical engineering matters.\nLead or oversee mechanical engineering tasks and deliverables based on experience level.\nEstablish appropriate design criteria, methodologies, and engineering approaches for assigned work.\nReview work prepared by less-experienced engineers and provide technical direction and mentoring.\nSupport technical decision-making and promote consistent application of engineering standards and best practices.\nField & Construction SupportSupport field investigations, site surveys, construction activities, commissioning, and equipment inspections as required.\nReview contractor submittals, requests for information, and field conditions and provide appropriate engineering responses.\nAssist with troubleshooting mechanical systems and resolving construction or installation issues.\nParticipate in equipment inspections, testing, startup, and commissioning activities as applicable.\nTravel to project sites and client locations as required.\nClient & Business DevelopmentCommunicate technical information effectively with clients, project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.\nParticipate in client meetings, presentations, project reviews, and technical discussions.\nSupport preparation of proposals, scopes of work, engineering estimates, and technical qualifications.\nContribute to development of client relationships and identification of new project opportunities.\nSupport continuous improvement of engineering practices, tools, and project delivery methods.\nQualifications & SkillsEducation & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.\nIntermediate level: 4-9 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.\nSenior level: 10+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.\nExperience in the energy, power, utilities, industrial, infrastructure, or related sectors is preferred.\nProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license is required or strongly preferred, depending on role and project responsibilities.\nExperience with multidisciplinary engineering projects and coordination is preferred.\nTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, design practices, applicable codes, and industry standards.\nExperience with mechanical systems, equipment, piping, HVAC, utilities, or other systems relevant to energy and infrastructure projects.\nAbility to prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, equipment data sheets, and technical reports.\nFamiliarity with common mechanical engineering, design, modeling, and analysis software and tools.\nAbility to interpret mechanical, process, civil, structural, electrical, and other technical documentation.\nUnderstanding of equipment selection, system integration, constructability, and field installation considerations.\nAbility to evaluate technical alternatives and develop practical engineering solutions.\n Professional SkillsStrong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.\nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of multidisciplinary project teams.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality.\nDemonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship appropriate to experience level.\nAbility to develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and colleagues.\nWillingness to travel
