Our team is dedicated to providing clients with effective business and technical solutions through exceptional levels of service, innovation and flexibility.\nTWD is currently seeking an Intermediate/Senior - Civil Structural Engineer in our Pittsburgh, PA office.\nPosition Overview:\nAs a Civil / Structural Engineer in our Pittsburgh office, you will provide engineering design, analysis, and technical support for projects within the energy and infrastructure sectors. You will work as part of multidisciplinary project teams to develop practical, code-compliant civil and structural solutions for facilities and infrastructure, with responsibilities ranging from technical design and analysis to project coordination, client interaction, and technical leadership. Depending on experience level, you may also lead technical work, mentor junior engineers, and support project execution and business development activities.\nKey Responsibilities\nCivil & Structural Engineering\nPerform and oversee civil and structural engineering design and analysis for energy and infrastructure projects.\nDevelop and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, technical reports, and design documentation.\nDesign and evaluate structural systems, foundations, steel and concrete structures, equipment supports, and related infrastructure as applicable to project requirements.\nPerform civil engineering design activities related to site development, grading, drainage, foundations, utilities, and related infrastructure as applicable.\nApply applicable building codes, design standards, regulations, and client requirements to engineering work.\nEvaluate existing structures and infrastructure and provide recommendations for repair, modification, reinforcement, or replacement as required.\nReview engineering work and deliverables for technical accuracy, quality, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.\nProject & Multidisciplinary CoordinationCoordinate civil and structural engineering activities with mechanical, electrical, process, controls, environmental, and other project disciplines.\nSupport or lead development of project scopes, schedules, estimates, and technical deliverables.\nParticipate in design reviews, interdisciplinary coordination meetings, and technical discussions.\nCoordinate with vendors, contractors, fabricators, surveyors, geotechnical consultants, and other third parties.\nProvide technical input to resolve design, construction, and field-related issues.\nSupport construction, commissioning, and field activities, including site visits and engineering assessments as required.\nTechnical LeadershipServe as a technical resource for project teams and provide guidance on civil and structural engineering matters.\nLead or oversee technical tasks and deliverables for assigned projects based on experience level.\nReview work prepared by less-experienced engineers and provide technical direction and mentoring.\nEstablish appropriate design approaches, methodologies, and engineering criteria for assigned work.\nPromote consistent application of engineering standards, quality processes, and best practices.\nClient & Business DevelopmentCommunicate technical information and project requirements effectively with clients and other stakeholders.\nParticipate in client meetings, presentations, and project reviews.\nSupport preparation of proposals, scopes of work, engineering estimates, and technical qualifications.\nIdentify opportunities to improve project delivery and support development of long-term client relationships.\nContribute to business development activities and pursuit of new project opportunities as appropriate.\nQuality & Professional Development\nMaintain technical quality and consistency across engineering deliverables.\nParticipate in quality assurance and quality control reviews.\nStay current with applicable codes, standards, engineering practices, and industry developments.\nSupport continuous improvement of engineering methods, tools, and project delivery processes.\nMaintain professional credentials and pursue ongoing technical and professional development.\nQualifications & SkillsEducation & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.\nIntermediate level: 4-9 years of relevant civil and/or structural engineering experience.\nSenior level: 10+ years of relevant civil and/or structural engineering experience.\nExperience in the energy, power, utilities, industrial, infrastructure, or related sectors is preferred.\nProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license is required or strongly preferred, depending on role and project responsibilities.\nExperience with multidisciplinary engineering projects and coordination is preferred.\nTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles, design practices, applicable codes, and industry standards.\nExperience with structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, foundations, and other structural systems as applicable.\nExperience with civil design activities such as site development, grading, drainage, utilities, and related infrastructure is preferred.\nAbility to prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.\nFamiliarity with common civil/structural engineering, modeling, drafting, and analysis software and tools.\nAbility to interpret architectural, civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, and other technical documentation.\nUnderstanding of construction methods, constructability considerations, and field conditions.\n Professional SkillsStrong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.\nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of multidisciplinary project teams.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality.\nDemonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship appropriate to experience level.\nAbility to
