The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Steel production environment or industrial construction sector, along with excellent leadership and communication skills. If this sounds like you, TWD may have the position you’ve been looking for!\nDuties & Responsibilities:\nProvide construction leadership either directly or via the supervision of contractors, depending upon the requirements of the project contracts. Representative activities include, but are not limited to: Safety, Health and Environmental\n\nEnsure compliance with state and federal health, safety and environment (HSE) regulations.\nMust be an excellent communicator and ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.\nPerform site inspections.\nEnsure hazardous work is performed in a safe manner.\nParticipate in safety/incident investigations.\nEnsure the vehicle and equipment checks are carried out and documentation managed.\nEnsure field level risk assessments (FLRAs) are completed. Administration\n\nMaintain site Supervisor's log and site reports\nPrepare daily production records.\nComplete quality reports\nFacilitate mandatory toolbox talks.\nMonitor labour productivity.\nAttend Daily meetings as required.Leadership and Supervision\n\nDevelop an effective construction crew \nManage crew performance \nAssign crew tasks\nEnsure workers are trained to perform work\nResolve conflicts between crew members\nMaintain work standards and outline behavioural expectation\nApply applicable labour laws and standards\nUnderstand and apply all company human resource policies \nWork cooperatively with all contractors and subcontractors \nAbide by union rules and obligations when applicable.Planning and Scheduling\n\nEnsure safety, quality, and productivity of construction projects\nTranslate general work requirements into a prioritized work plan\nCoordinate and work with other subcontractors\nWork with authorities having jurisdiction\nEnsure that all work is performed to the applicable codes\nSupport PM/ superintendent in identifying RFIs and CCNs\nOrganize and manage lifts\nManage construction materials\nManage construction tools and equipment\nManage completions process\nSupport commissioning processQuality Control:\nPerform on-site assessment prior to commencing work \nOversee the execution of the work\nDemonstrate subject matter expertise\nMonitor quality of construction work\nEstablish lines and levels for construction operations\nInspect and measure completed work\n\nDelivering upon the projects goals, objectives, risks, assumptions, staffing levels, roles and responsibilities, work breakdown structure, milestones, and deliverables required by the project.\nProvide Subject Matter Expertise input into the Preparation of Tender Process, Budgets, Estimates, Construction Schedules, progress, and monthly reports\nPlan, organize and deliver construction scopes or work in accordance with the requirements of the project execution plan and execution contracts\nDemonstrated ability to exercise necessary cost control measures.\nPlan, coordinate, and supervise activities of all company personnel on assigned projects\nEnsure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, etc., are adhered to.\nEstablish and deliver mechanisms for tracking project progress and reporting to stakeholders via a formal communication plan\nInterpret blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans.\nQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.\nMinimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, preferably in the Steel Production environment or industrial sector.\nMust be an excellent communicator with a confident and humble demeanor and a culture for Safety First.\nParticipate in key design reviews during FEL.\nParticipate in the project Risk Review meeting\nReview the layouts from a constructability and safety perspective.\nTracks construction contract progress and support the change management activities.\nWorks with Project Manager to facilitate various Project Safety Line-up and Project Safety\nWorks with Project Manager/ Project Safety Manager to identify and mitigate hazards in the project/ construction.\nWorks with maintenance and operations representatives to ensure safe site access and communication. \nParticipates in incidents investigations involving any U.S. Steel plant personnel participating in the project. \nNote: This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the position and is not exhaustive.
