THESE FUNCTIONS ARE NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS AN EXHAUSTIVE LIST OF ALL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:\nPrepare, design and implement software for moderate to complex custom developed applications or Guidewire products and integrate those applications with other custom or commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications.\nParticipate in creating and maintaining plans to develop custom software, Guidewire products, and integration with other applications.\nEstimate level of effort and elapsed time to design, implement, and test software.\nDocument, implement and unit test code based on approved designs.\nProvide periodic status of deliverables, level of effort, and timeframes to completion.\nTroubleshoot, as required, problems with software in production.\nProvide input into, and help manager develop and then implement own personal training plan.\nFormally document designs using established documentation standards.\nPlan and implement production rollout of software upgrades to custom developed and Guidewire products.\nCollaborate with external consultants and developers on large scale projects.\nGuide business department personnel in technical and business capability of software applications.\nREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nFour-year college degree, preferably in CS, engineering or other technical field, or equivalent experience.\n1+ years software development experience\nFamiliarity with formal software development processes and best practices.\nFamiliarity with software package selection processes.\nHands-on experience as a software application developer using different application software architectures (e.g. MVC, client server, etc.).\nExperience coding with Java, J2EE, GOSU or .NET or other object-oriented technologies.\nImplementation experience in at least one full life-cycle implementations.\nExperience translating business requirements into concise technical design documents.\nKnowledge of database constructs and experience with SQL.\nExperience writing business rules, interpreting XMLs and making user interface design changes.\nDemonstrated ability to design, configure, and test software products.\nClear, effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to actively listen, problem solve, and communicate effectively with both technical and business users.\nDemonstrated experience working both as an individual contributor and as part of a team.\nPREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nGraduate degree in technical discipline.\nFamiliarity with agile methodology.\nExperience with MS SQL Server.\nProperty and casualty insurance experience.\nGuidewire Insurance Suite.\nAny IT certification.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:\nApplicant should be able to demonstrate proficiency in some of these technologies:\nJava\nJava EE\nJava Web Services (SOAP) and/ or RESTful\nSubversion, Git\nDesign Patterns\nGuidewire\n.Net/C#\nJBoss ESB \n\nWhy work with TWIA?\nWe offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to support both your professional success and personal well-being.
