The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, updating, and maintaining accurate mechanical and project engineering drawings that support plant maintenance, shutdowns, fabrication, construction, equipment installation, and capital projects. The role provides technical drafting services to ensure efficient execution of mechanical works while maintaining compliance with engineering standards and plant requirements.The position reports to: MCC Manager\nMain Duties and Responsibilities:\nMechanical Drafting:\nPrepare detailed fabrication drawings for mechanical components and structures\nDevelop assembly and installation drawings for plant equipment\nProduce detailed drawings for chutes, hoppers, ducts, conveyors, platforms, silos, and pipework\nPrepare bills of materials (BOMs) and material take-offs for fabrication and construction works\nRevise and update existing mechanical drawings following plant modifications\nProject Engineering Support:\nPrepare project layouts, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and construction drawings\nSupport execution of plant expansion, modernization, and reliability improvement projects\nGenerate drawings required during shutdowns and major maintenance activities\nAssist Project Engineers in preparing technical documentation and project execution packages \nSite Survey and Measurement:\nConduct site visits to collect field measurements and engineering data\nVerify actual dimensions before fabrication and installation\nPrepare and maintain as-built drawings reflecting site conditions \nDocument Control:\nMaintain an organized engineering drawing database and archive\nEnsure that all drawings are properly numbered, revised, approved, and controlled\nUpdate plant layouts, equipment locations, and engineering records after modifications \nFabrication and Workshop Support:\nPrepare fabrication drawings for workshop manufacturing activities\nLiaise with workshop personnel to clarify drawing requirements\nSupport quality control by ensuring drawings reflects engineering specifications \nContractor and Project Coordination:\nProvide technical drawings and information to contractors\nReview contractor drawings and recommend corrections where necessary\nParticipate in project meetings and technical reviews \nHealth, Safety and Environment:\nComply with all plant HSE policies and procedures including OSHA requirements\nConduct site measurements and inspections safely\nEnsure engineering designs consider plant safety requirements and maintainability\nOthers:\nCompliance with HM Group and local Code of Business Conduct and all policies, procedures and guidelines\nPerform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor\nKey Competencies:\nTechnical Competencies:\nAdvanced proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D\nKnowledge of SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar CAD software\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&lDs, and mechanical layouts\nKnowledge of fabrication, welding, machining, and steel structures\nUnderstanding of cement plant equipment and systems\nProject Competencies:\nProject drawing preparation and document control\nMaterial quantity estimation and bill of materials development\nConstruction and installation support\nUnderstanding project execution processes\nComputer Skills:\nAutoCAD\nMicrosoft Office Suite\n3D Modelling Software will be added advantage\nPersonal Competencies:\nAttention to detail\nAnalytical thinking\nEffective communication skills\nTeamwork and collaboration\nTime management\nProblem-solving ability\nAbility to work under pressure during shutdowns and major projects\nQualifications and Experience:\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Drafting, or related engineering field\nMinimum of 3 - 5 years of drafting experience in cement, mining, power, manufacturing, or heavy industry\nExperience in maintenance projects and industrial plant environments\nExperience in preparing fabrication and construction drawings\nPlease attach detailed CV in PDF format, e-mail and telephone contacts, names and addresses of three (3) referees.\nDeadline for application is 31st October 2026.
