The Maintenance Fitter carries out preventative and corrective maintenance, supports continuous improvement activities, and assists with the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment. The role works closely with Production, Quality, Safety and Continuous Improvement to improve equipment reliability, minimise downtime and maintain a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.\n Afternoon shift in line with business requirements, with flexibility to work day shift, is an essential requirement of the role.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nEnsure plant and equipment are properly maintained to maximise reliability, safety and performance.\nRespond to equipment breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime and production impact.\nExecute preventative and planned maintenance activities in line with agreed maintenance schedules and company standards.\nAccurately record maintenance activities, work orders, parts usage and asset history within MEX or a similar Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).\nProactively identify equipment, process and maintenance improvements that improve reliability, efficiency and cost performance.\nSupport the education of operators and key stakeholders to promote a reliable manufacturing environment.\nSupport Continuous Improvement activities across the factory, working with internal and external stakeholders as required.\nAssist with the installation, commissioning and improvement of plant and equipment, including capital works.\nCoordinate and oversee contractors on site, ensuring work is completed safely, compliantly and to the required standard.\n Support contractor inductions, permit-to-work requirements and maintenance-related safety activities.\nMaintain the maintenance spare parts store and associated inventory controls.\n Support maintenance of the factory, warehouse, offices and surrounding site infrastructure as required.\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nEssential\nRelevant mechanical trade qualification.\n Current forklift licence or willingness to obtain one.\nDesirable\nElevated Work Platform, Working at Heights and Confined Space training or experience.\nProfessional Competencies\nEssential\nStrong maintenance and reliability experience gained in an FMCG, food, beverage or pharmaceutical environment.\nStrong fault-finding, troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.\nExperience with blending, mixing, seaming, packing and palletising machinery.\nUnderstanding of manufacturing filling and packing processes.\nStrong knowledge of Food Safety and Quality requirements.\nHigh degree of safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices.\n Experience using MEX or a similar CMMS.\nExperience coordinating and managing external contractors within a manufacturing environment.\nMechanical expertise with a practical understanding of electrical systems and fault finding.\n Good organisational and numeracy skills.\n Excellent verbal and written communication skills.\nComputer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.\n Desirable\nExperience maintaining and troubleshooting Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) packaging equipment.\n Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.\nExperience supporting plant upgrades, equipment installations and capital projects.\nBenefits\nAdditional 1%
