Our teams are building capabilities to identify, plan, and deliver effects in the information operations space. We combine signal-rich proprietary data, novel AI-powered technology, and world-class expertise to deliver valuable insights to our US government and Fortune 50 clients. \nIn this role, you will work autonomously and with our subject matter experts (SMEs) to tackle challenging problems and find creative solutions with cutting-edge technology. You will work directly with customers while serving as the technical translator to our internal and external stakeholders. The role is a great fit if you’re motivated by autonomy, innovation, and interfacing directly with end-users to contribute to national security challenges.\nThe candidate must be local to the DC Metro area and willing to work up to 4 days/week at Two Six offices or on customer sites. All sites are in Northern Virginia and Laurel, MD.\nThe work requires an Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility (Polygraph preferred). \nResponsibilities\nWork with customers, subject matter experts, and our Product team to turn abstract customer needs into concrete data science and/or engineering solutions.\nExperiment with and evaluate potential solutions to develop high-quality prototypes.\nBe responsible for projects that span statistical and mathematical reasoning, modeling & simulation, and software development.\nExperiment with a range of data science techniques to produce insight, including machine learning, deep learning, network analysis, sampling methodologies, text analytics in multiple languages and data visualization.\nRepresent Two Six’s technical and methodological rigor to a range of audiences from technical novices to experts.\nDesign and execute experiments to evaluate the integrity of our data sampling and data collection strategies.\nWork on ad-hoc analyses or build prototype tools to support our subject matter expert and customer success teams.\nSupport the installation, configuration, and upkeep of Two Six and custom capabilities on customer systems.\nMinimum Qualifications\nEducation: Strong quantitative background with Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or similar field. Higher degrees preferred. \n Experience: 5+ years experience in a Data Science role (or 2+ with a PhD), including 3+ years experience with Python programming language (Intermediate-level or higher) and machine learning. \n Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS) with SCI Eligibility; ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph.\nDomain Knowledge: Strong understanding of statistics, quantitative social science methods, and/or machine learning and AI.\nCommunication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand explanations. Preference for candidates with direct customer support experience.\n Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility (Polygraph preferred)\nAdditional skills and experience that will help you thrive in this role:\nExperience with Machine Learning, including:\nFeature selection/engineering\nModel training\nModel evaluation\nSupervised and Unsupervised ML\nSimulation\nAnomaly detection\nPrevious experience with code version control\nFamiliarity with software development processes and tools like the Agile methodology and Jira\nExperience with agentic and generative AI.
