You will help with the following:\nFeature Delivery & Collaboration\nParticipation in the design and delivery of new product features in collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams.\nExploration of feasibility options and contribution to customer-focused engineering decisions.\nCommitment to clear goals, delivery expectations, and shared team objectives.\nClear and responsible communication within the squad to support alignment and transparency.\nCommunicating your needs clearly and responsibly.\nArchitecture & Technical Decision-Making\nContribution to system architecture discussions and evolution of technical design within the squad.\nApplication of OOP, SOLID principles, and clean coding practices to build maintainable Ruby services.\nParticipation in establishing engineering patterns, standards, and long-term architectural improvements.\nSupport in building highly available, resilient, and scalable systems.\nCode Quality & Testing\nDevelopment of high-quality Ruby code that is maintainable, readable, and structured for long-term sustainability.\nAdoption of strong testing practices using RSpec or Minitest to ensure robust test coverage.\nImprovement of existing systems to enhance reliability, modularity, and testability.\nContribution to a culture of automated testing and continuous quality improvements.\nOperational Excellence\nSupport in building and maintaining services operating under significant scale and traffic.\nParticipation in monitoring, troubleshooting, and enhancing system resilience.\nContribution to observability practices, operational readiness, and continuous improvement of production systems.\nEngagement in deployments and incident support as part of the team’s shared operational ownership.\nWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:\nCore Technical Skills\nStrong hands-on experience with Ruby for building production applications.\nAbility to deliver maintainable, well-structured code aligned with OOP and SOLID principles.\nProficiency in automated testing using RSpec or Minitest.\nExperience working with Git and collaborative development workflows.\nBackend Engineering Fundamentals\nExperience building scalable, API-driven backend services.\nUnderstanding of concurrency, asynchronous processing, and distributed system interactions.\nExperience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB for data persistence and caching.\nAbility to design and troubleshoot systems operating under heavy load and high availability requirements.\nOperational & Performance Awareness\nFamiliarity with diagnosing performance bottlenecks and implementing optimisations.\nStrong understanding of observability principles, including monitoring, logging, and system health analysis.\nExperience supporting and iterating on production systems.\nCommunication & Collaboration\nStrong English communication skills, both written and verbal.\nAbility to contribute positively to team collaboration, solution discussions, and knowledge sharing.\nAWESOME BUT NOT REQUIRED:\nExperience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).\nFamiliarity with Rack, Sinatra, or Rails frameworks.\nExposure to EventMachine or event-driven architectures.\nExperience with ELK, Datadog, or similar observability stacks.\nKnowledge of AWS services such as ECR, EC2, S3, and RDS.\nExposure to CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native practices, or infrastructure tooling.\nWHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?\nBe part of our collegial environment where responsibility and authority are shared equally amongst colleagues, and help create our company culture \nA culture in which we don’t criticise failure but ensure we learn from our mistakes\nAn Agile environment where your ideas are welcome \nThe possibility to grow and experience different projects \nFully remote \nOngoing Training & Mentoring \nThe possibility of travelling \n- ATTENTION!
