We steward precious resources by finding more sustainable solutions.\nJob Summary\nAs a Construction Engineer in the Chicago area, you’ll provide full-time on-site oversight for water and sewer infrastructure projects, ensuring contractor compliance, quality, and safety. You’ll coordinate daily construction activities, review submittals and pay applications, monitor schedules, and serve as a key liaison between the Owner, contractors, and project stakeholders to keep projects moving efficiently.This posting is intended to gather expressions of interest from the Construction Engineer position for anticipated opportunities expected to arise over the next 3-6 months. While an immediate vacancy may not be available, we are building relationships with talented professionals who are interested in joining our growing PMCM team as new projects and hiring needs materialize.\nResponsibilities & Qualifications\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nProvide full-time on-site construction oversight and contract administration\nEnsure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and safety requirements\nCoordinate daily construction activities and resolve field issues\nReview and approve submittals, and testing compliance\nMonitor construction schedule and notify the Owner of potential delays\nReview contractor pay applications and verify quantities and progress\nPrepare daily reports, meeting minutes, and progress documentation\nCoordinate inspections, testing, and acceptance of completed work\nEnforce quality control and workmanship standards\nServe as liaison between Owner, Contractor, inspectors, and stakeholders\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field.\n4-5+ years of experience in Resident Engineer activities and managing construction field teams on water and/or sewer infrastructure projects\nExperience with water and sewer construction projects, Project Management Procedures (PMP’s) and Project Management Guidelines (PMG’s) familiarity a plus.\nPreferred Certifications, but not required: Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Professional Engineer (PE)\nCandidate must have reliable transportation.\nStrong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.\nHigh levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.\nDemonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence\nAdditional Information\nT.Y. Lin International is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $88,800 - $110,000 annually for this position and local market.
