In this role, you’ll design and integrate cutting-edge transportation technologies that improve safety, optimize traffic operations, and connect communities. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you’ll apply your technical expertise to deliver innovative ITS/signal system solutions that make cities smarter, safer, and more efficient. This position can be based in the DC metropolitan area.This posting is intended to gather expressions of interest from the ITS Design Engineering position for anticipated opportunities expected to arise over the next 3-6 months. While an immediate vacancy may not be available, we are building relationships with talented professionals who are interested in joining our growing Transportation Engineering team as new projects and hiring needs materialize.\nResponsibilities & Qualifications\nWhat You'll Do:\nContribute technical expertise on ITS, ATMS, signal system and transportation technology projects.\nDevelop design plans, specifications, and systems engineering documentation in line with FHWA guidelines.\nSupport planning efforts, including master plans, concept of operations, and policy documents.\nConduct field work, equipment testing, and infrastructure verification.\nDevelop signal design plans, signal interconnect plans in AutoCAD and Microstation\nPrepare technical reports, specifications, and electrical design documents.\nApply knowledge across the ITS/ATMS lifecycle-from planning and design to implementation and operations.\nStay current on emerging technologies and assess applications for transportation safety, operations, and maintenance.\nAssist with proposals, marketing, and participation in industry events.\nWhat You'll Need:\nBachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or related field.\n5-10 years of relevant ITS/ATMS, signal design experience.\nPE license preferred.\nFamiliarity with FHWA Systems Engineering processes.\nWillingness to travel for projects and client needs.\nStrong technical background in ITS/ATMS/signal planning, design, and systems engineering.\nEffective problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.\nAbility to build strong client and team relationships.\nSelf-motivated and adaptable to evolving technologies and project needs.\nAdditional Information\nT.Y. Lin International is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $95,200-$142,800 annually for this position and local market.
