We steward precious resources by finding more sustainable solutions.\nJob Summary\nThis role supports the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including the preparation of engineering drawings, reports, calculations, specifications, and cost estimates. Responsibilities include designing sanitary and storm sewers and watermains, assisting with feasibility studies, permitting, contractor and supplier coordination, construction inspection, contract administration, and business development activities. Ideal candidates are pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field and have strong attention to detail, time management, teamwork, and a willingness to learn. Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS, and Environmental Assessment processes is considered an asset.This posting is intended to gather expressions of interest from Engineering Designer, Water - Interns for anticipated opportunities expected to arise over the next 3-6 months. While an immediate vacancy may not be available, we are building relationships with talented professionals who are interested in joining our growing Water team as new projects and hiring needs materialize.\nResponsibilities & Qualifications\nResponsibilities\nCreating conceptual, preliminary and detailed engineering drawings including Plan and Profiles through AutoCAD Civil3D, engineering reports, calculations, specifications and cost estimates for water and wastewater projects\nPerforming calculations and analysis using engineering formulas for design of sanitary and storm sewers, and watermains\nAssisting the project team in delivering projects, and with the preparation of feasibility studies and functional plans\nAssisting in applying for and obtaining the necessary permits and approvals to proceed with construction\nCoordination with Suppliers and contractors for industry standards and shop drawings\nWorking on multiple projects simultaneously through different phases\nAssisting with contract administration and construction inspection duties on project sites as required\nAssisting with business development efforts including proposals and time task matrices\nQualifications\nWorking towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related discipline\nExperience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation is an asset\nStrong attention to detail and ability to produce quality results.\nWillingness to learn new software and ability to apply it\nCapable of working both independently and in a team environment\nAbility to learn the approval process, including design guidelines and standards\nAbility to learn the planning process and EA process\nHigh levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way\nDemonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence\nAbility to time manage and prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines\nExperience with ArcGIS and Environmental Assessment is an asset\nAdditional Information\nT.Y.
