The successful candidate will have experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with airport owners, airlines, regulatory agencies, and construction partners to deliver projects in active operational environments.\nResponsibilities & Qualifications\nThe Opportunity\nAs Project Manager - Aviation (Airside Development), you will oversee the delivery of complex aviation infrastructure projects from planning and design through construction support. You will manage technical teams, coordinate with airport stakeholders, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with airport operational requirements.\nThis role requires a strong understanding of airfield operations, FAA design standards, phasing and constructability, and the unique challenges associated with delivering projects while maintaining uninterrupted airport operations.\nResponsibilities\nLead the planning, design, and delivery of major airside infrastructure projects.\nManage multidisciplinary project teams consisting of civil engineers, airfield planners, pavement specialists, electrical engineers, architects, environmental professionals, and specialty consultants.\nServe as the primary point of contact with airport owners, program management teams, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.\nDevelop project execution plans, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and risk mitigation strategies.\nCoordinate design development, permitting, procurement, construction support, and project closeout activities.\nManage consultant performance, quality assurance, project controls, and client communications.\nCoordinate closely with airport operations to minimize impacts on aircraft movements and airport functionality during construction.\nSupport contractor coordination, phasing reviews, staging plans, and operational readiness activities.\nIdentify project risks and develop practical solutions to maintain schedule, budget, and operational objectives.\nPrepare executive-level presentations, technical reports, and project status updates.\nMentor junior project managers and technical staff while contributing to the continued growth of TYLin's Aviation practice.\nQualifications Required\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Airport Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Planning or a related discipline.\n10+ years of progressive experience managing aviation infrastructure projects, including significant experience on airside developments.\nDemonstrated experience delivering projects at major commercial airports in the United States or internationally.\nStrong knowledge of FAA airport design standards, Advisory Circulars, airfield geometry, and operational requirements.\nExperience managing multidisciplinary design and engineering teams.\nProven ability to manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.\nExcellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.\nExperience coordinating projects within active airport operational environments.\nPreferred\nExperience delivering projects for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ).\nExperience with FAA Airport Improvement Program (AIP)-funded projects.\nFamiliarity with ICAO standards and international airport development projects.\nExperience with Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), or Public-Private Partnership (P3) delivery methods.\nProject Management Professional (PMP) certification.\nTypical Project Experience\nThe successful candidate will have experience managing projects such as:\nRunway and taxiway rehabilitation, reconstruction, and expansion\nAirfield geometry improvements\nApron and aircraft parking facilities\nAircraft taxi lane and taxilane systems\nDeicing facilities\nAirfield lighting and navigational aid infrastructure\nAirfield drainage and utility improvements\nAircraft support infrastructure\nCargo apron developments\nAirside civil infrastructure supporting terminal redevelopment programs\nIdeal Candidate\nYou are an experienced aviation project manager who understands the operational complexity of delivering projects in active airfield environments. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $153,600- $230,400 annually for this position and local market.
