We steward precious resources by finding more sustainable solutions.\nJob Summary\nThe Senior Resident Engineer/ Structures Representative serves as the company and client representative at the work site, responsible for all structures construction work to ensure that the work performed by the contractor is in accordance with the plans and specifications. The Resident Engineer works independently on structures construction items while reporting directly to the Sector Leader. Also responsible for managing company and local agency personnel as the work pertains to structures construction. Performs complex analysis and review of structures-related submittals including, but not limited to, falsework, shoring, pre-stressing.Responsibilities & Qualifications\nResponsibilities:\nPerform independent analysis and review of falsework plans\n\nPerform independent analysis and review of shoring plans\n\nPerform independent analysis of other structures construction-related submittals and plans\n\nPerform field inspection of all falsework elements\n\nEnsure the application of project specifications and the execution of plans\n\nProvide written progress, technical and special issues reports\n\nPrepare detailed cost estimates for the different activities required for the project\n\nWork with the contractor on coordination of work\n\nAct as liaison with Project Manager\n\nManaging project documentation and assuring contract compliance with contract requirements\n\nAbide by and enforce construction safety rules and regulations\n\nReview contractor pay estimates and submittals\n\nPerform field inspection duties\n\nDirect field inspection/support staff\n\nConduct daily and weekly communication with Project Manager, Agency personnel and other senior staff\n\nMentor/train staff members\n\nImplement firm’s quality management plan\n\nOther duties as assigned\n\nQualifications:\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering\n\nProfessional Engineering (PE) License (State of California Preferred)\n\n15+ years' experiencewith the concepts and practices with complex bridge constructionalong with successfully serving as Structures Representative on at least three bridge projects on with a minimum construction value of $50 million.\n\nMust be experienced in oversight of company and local agency staff and sub consultants and have the ability to effectively and efficiently work with the Sector Leader and clients to assist in the resolution of project issues.\n\nMust be able to write effective and concise reviews comments, and reports.Must be able to articulately work with Contractors and other team members to effectively resolve field issues.\n\nPrevious construction management experience for Caltrans projects, or projects that had Caltrans oversight, is a requirement.\n\nSteel girder bridge and precast concrete girder bridge construction experience along with work within railroad right-of-way is preferred.\n\nAdditional Information\nT.Y. Lin International is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $170,800 - $240,200 annually for this position and local market.
