We steward precious resources by finding more sustainable solutions.\nJob Summary\nTYLin is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our growing Detroit-based team performing multimodal transportation planning, analysis, and design. The candidate will contribute to transportation projects including safety, transportation operations, multimodal planning and analyses, and complete streets/streetscape design.The successful candidate must be able to creatively approach the conceptual redesign of urban roadways to make them safer and more comfortable for all users while satisfying technical requirements and practical implementation. The candidate should be capable of executing tasks from initiation to completion.\n Responsibilities & Qualifications\nResponsibilities & Qualifications\nThe selected individual will perform various multimodal transportation engineering tasks including:\nConduct site visits, field observations, and data collection\nPerform traffic, pedestrian, parking, and safety analyses\nUse traffic analysis software and innovative data analytics tools\nDevelop CAD-based design drawings of roadway and intersection geometry, signage, markings, and signal controls\nConduct reviews of transportation plans and drawings for operational effectiveness for all roadway users\nPrepare high-quality graphics, data visualizations, and reports\nAttend internal and external project meetings\nQualifications\nThe candidate must be organized, able to work both collaboratively and independently, manage priorities, think creatively, and meet the following minimum qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering\nSkilled user of Excel\nSkilled in CAD (MicroStation preferred)\nKnowledge of MUTCD standards, with preference for added knowledge of design standards established by NACTO and local transportation agencies\nTechnical experience with elements of roadway design, including roadway markings, signing, and signals\nFamiliarity with traffic analysis software including Synchro/SimTraffic and/or HCS\nProfessional Engineer licensure preferred, or ability to obtain within one year of starting\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to commute to the office at least three days per week\nAuthorized to work in the US\nInterested candidates who meet the minimum qualifications should attach a cover letter and resume to their application. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $81,200-$121,800 annually for this position and local market.
