Staff Architects in Enterprise Data Architecture oversee one or more Data Engineering Disciplines.\nInterpret enterprise data architecture, governance standards, and platform direction (BigQuery, Palantir Foundry, Workday/SAP ecosystem) and translate them into a concrete data strategy and roadmap for HR & Payroll.\nDesign and guide data models, pipelines, and integration patterns connecting HCM/Payroll systems to the enterprise data lake/warehouse.\nStay hands-on with SQL, data modeling, and pipeline/ETL work- able to dig into complex data problems alongside the team, not just review their output.\nServe as the domain's data quality and governance owner: data lineage, validation, metadata/cataloging (e.g., Collibra), and compliance with data privacy requirements for HR data.\nManage, coach, and grow a data team based in India: day-to-day leadership, performance management, career development, and acting as the trusted on-the-ground manager for a remote-from-HQ team.\nPartner with HR/Payroll business stakeholders to turn ambiguous business questions into data requirements and analytics-ready solutions.\nAct as a bridge between enterprise architecture/IT leadership and the HR/Payroll domain- representing domain needs upward, and enterprise standards downward.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nTechnical Standards and Governance:\nEstablishing and maintaining enterprise-wide technical standards, guidelines, and best practices for software development, quality, and infrastructure.\nEnsuring compliance with these standards across all programs and projects.\nPerform other assigned job-related duties that align with our organization's vision, mission, and values and fall within your scope of practice.\nArchitecture Design and Review:\nDesigning scalable, reliable, and secure architecture solutions that align with business goals and technical requirements.\nConducting architecture reviews and providing guidance to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.\nCross-Disciplinary Expertise:\nLeveraging expertise in software development, quality engineering, and infrastructure engineering to provide holistic architectural solutions.\nEnsuring seamless integration of development, quality, and infrastructure components.\nTechnology Evaluation and Selection:\nEvaluating and selecting appropriate technologies, tools, and platforms aligned with enterprise standards and business needs.\nConducting proof-of-concept (PoC) projects to validate technology choices. Vendor and Tool Management:\nManage relationships with technology vendors and ensure that tools and services meet enterprise standards.\nEvaluating and integrating third-party solutions as needed.\nIncident Management and Troubleshooting:\nProviding high-level support for incident management and troubleshooting complex technical issues.\nConducting root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures. Capacity Planning and Resource Management:\nConducting capacity planning ensures enterprise architecture can handle current and future workloads.\nManaging resources effectively to support enterprise-wide initiatives.\nTraining and Mentorship:\nProviding training and mentorship to technical teams to ensure adherence to enterprise standards.\nSupporting professional development and knowledge sharing within the organization.\nQualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Quantitative or Engineering Field preferred.\nPreferred Certification(s): TOGAF, Cloud (AWS or GCP), Security, SAP, SAFe. Experience: 7+ years of relevant and practical experience.
