This role will lead solution design and development, guide architecture and engineering best practices, mentor engineers, and build scalable, reliable, secure, and high-performing software solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in Java, APIs/SDKs, distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native development, and software architecture within an Agile and DevOps environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the design, development, testing, deployment, and production support of enterprise software solutions.\nProvide hands-on technical leadership across architecture, solution design, coding standards, and engineering best practices.\nDesign and build scalable, secure, reliable, and high-performance applications and platforms.\nDevelop and evolve APIs, SDKs, microservices, and integration solutions, ensuring compatibility, scalability, and maintainability.\nWrite production-ready code and conduct code reviews to maintain quality, security, performance, and engineering standards.\nTroubleshoot complex application and production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive reliability and performance improvements.\nMentor engineers, guide technical decisions, and foster engineering excellence and continuous improvement.\nCollaborate with product, engineering, Agile, and business partners to deliver solutions using Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience\nSix to eight years of relevant experience\nRequired Skills\nStrong development experience with Java and one or more of C++, Kotlin, C#, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.\nExperience designing REST APIs, SDKs, API integrations, and versioning strategies.\nStrong knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, and high-availability architectures.\nExperience with cloud-native applications, Docker, and Kubernetes.\nStrong software architecture, system design, and design pattern expertise.\nKnowledge of secure coding, authentication, authorization, encryption, and vulnerability management.\nExperience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, testing, and production support.\nProven technical leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nExperience with payments, commerce, or high-volume transaction processing - Preferred\nKnowledge of PCI-DSS, tokenization, authorization/settlement, payment terminals, or device integration - Preferred\nLocation expectations \nThis role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.\nIf there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our disability accommodations for applicants.\nBenefits:\nOur approach to benefits and total rewards considers our team members’ whole selves and what may be needed to thrive in and outside work.
