This role plays a critical part in building enterprise platforms that support customer-facing applications, CRM integrations, onboarding workflows, and operational systems. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, resilient, and modern cloud-based solutions aligned with enterprise standards.\nKey Responsibilities: -\nBackend Development\nDesign, develop, and maintain end-to-end applications using Java-based backend and modern front-end frameworks\nBuild scalable microservices and APIs using Java (Spring Boot or similar frameworks)\nWrite clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards\nBackend & Microservices Engineering\nDevelop RESTful/GQL APIs and backend services to support customer, product, and operational workflows\nDesign and implement microservices architectures with strong focus on scalability and resilience\nImplement asynchronous and event-driven patterns where appropriate\nIntegration & System Connectivity\nBuild integrations with enterprise platforms including event streaming (Kafka), and legacy systems\nEnsure data consistency and reliability across distributed systems\nSupport real-time, batch, and API-based integration patterns\nRelational DB connectivity\nDevOps, CI/CD & Release Management\nParticipate in CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, or similar\nSupport automated testing, build, and deployment processes\nEnsure production readiness and smooth release cycles\nContribute to environment management and deployment automation\nProduction Support & Reliability\nProviding L3 support for production applications and services\nTroubleshoot and resolve issues across the stack (UI, APIs, integrations, infrastructure)\nConduct root cause analysis and implement preventative measures\nEnsure high availability, performance, and scalability of applications\nSecurity & Compliance\nDevelop secure code aligned with enterprise and regulatory standards\nImplement authentication, authorization, and secure data handling practices\nSupport compliance requirements in financial services or regulated environments\nCollaboration & Agile Delivery\nWork closely with product owners, designers, and engineering teams in Agile environments\nParticipate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives\nTranslate business requirements into technical solutions\nContinuous Improvement & Innovation\nDrive improvements in system performance, scalability, and code quality\nContribute to modernization initiatives (monoliths to microservices, cloud adoption)\nExplore and adopt new technologies to improve engineering efficiency and delivery\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)\n8+ years of experience relevant experience as Java backend engineer.\nJava, Spring Boot (or similar frameworks)\nRESTful API development\nMicroservices architecture\nSQL and/or NoSQL databases\nGit-based source control\nPreferred Qualifications\nKafka or event-driven architectures\nCloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)\nContainerization (Docker, Kubernetes)\nCRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)\nFinancial services or regulated environments\nAutomated testing frameworks and DevOps tools\nExposure to modern architecture patterns (domain-driven design, distributed systems)\nKey Skills\nJava / Spring Boot Development\nMicroservices & API Design\nSystem Integration\nCloud & DevOps Practices\nProblem Solving & Debugging\nSuccess Criteria\nDelivers scalable, resilient, and high-performing applications\nEnsures high-quality code with minimal production defects\nBuild solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and standards\nImproves system performance and reduces technical debt\nCollaborates effectively across engineering and product teams\nShift Timings - 11 AM - 8 PM.\nLocation - Chennai.\nExperience - 8+ Years\nLocation expectations \nThis role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.\nIf there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our disability accommodations for applicants.\nPosting may be closed earlier due to high volume of applicants.\nThis is an U.S. Bancorp India posting.
