The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.\nBuild and enhance RESTful APIs, event-driven services, and integrations using Kafka or similar messaging and streaming technologies.\nDevelop and deploy cloud-native solutions leveraging Azure, AWS, or GCP, following modern engineering and architectural best practices.\nDesign and implement AI-powered applications utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, and intelligent automation capabilities to solve business challenges.\nBuild Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, and prompt engineering techniques to deliver contextual AI experiences.\nIntegrate enterprise applications with AI platforms such as Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic, or equivalent services, ensuring secure and responsible AI adoption.\nImplement and support DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, containerization, and Kubernetes-based deployments, to improve delivery efficiency and operational excellence.\nCollaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions, conduct code reviews, contribute to technical designs, and promote engineering best practices.\nBasic Qualifications\n- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience \n- Three to five years of relevant experience \nSkills\nStrong proficiency in Java (11/17+), Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture for building scalable enterprise applications.\nExperience developing REST APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar technologies.\nHands-on expertise with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompt Engineering, and AI application development.\nExperience designing and implementing RAG architectures, including vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search.\nKnowledge of AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or similar agent frameworks.\nStrong cloud engineering experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP, including cloud-native application deployment.\nExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.\nUnderstanding of SQL/NoSQL databases, application security, observability, AI governance, and responsible AI principles.\nLocation expectations \nThis role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.\nIf there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our disability accommodations for applicants.\nBenefits:\nOur approach to benefits and total rewards considers our team members’ whole selves and what may be needed to thrive in and outside work.
