and completeness.\nIdentify and document:\nMissing charges\nDuplicate charges\nUnsupported or non-compliant charges\nValidate charges based on clinical documentation, coding rules, and billing guidelines.\nEnsure all billing aligns with:\nCMS and payer requirements\nNational healthcare billing audit guidelines\nOrganizational compliance standards\nSubmit clear, actionable audit findings to revenue cycle teams for correction and rebilling.\nAudit Analysis & Documentation\nAnalyze audit findings to determine root causes and patterns.\nMaintain accurate audit documentation that is clear, traceable, and defensible.\nTrack audit outcomes and financial impact.\nAssist in developing recommendations to improve charge capture accuracy and billing processes.\nCollaboration & Education\nPartner with:\nCoding and billing teams\nClinical departments\nRevenue cycle leadership\nProvide guidance on:\nDocumentation requirements\nCharge capture practices\nBilling compliance standards\nSupport education efforts to prevent recurring audit issues.\nRequired Qualifications\nActive Registered Nurse (RN) license or LPN license \n5+ years of clinical nursing experience (ICU, ED, OR, or acute care preferred)\nExperience performing:\nCharge audits\nChart reviews\nBilling validation\nStrong understanding of: Medical record documentation & Hospital billing processes\nTechnical Knowledge & Skills\nKnowledge of:\nCPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 coding basics\nRevenue codes and charge capture processes\nInpatient and outpatient billing rules\nFamiliarity with:\nMedicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing guidelines\nCMS regulations and compliance expectations\nAbility to:\nInterpret itemized bills, clinical documentation, and diagnostic reports\nIdentify discrepancies and determine correct billing practices\nExperience using:\nEHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech)\nAudit or billing tools/data systems\nCore Competencies\nStrong analytical and critical thinking skills\nHigh attention to detail and accuracy\nAbility to work independently and manage priorities\nClear and professional written and verbal communication\nAbility to translate complex findings into actionable insights\nPreferred Experience\nPrior experience in:\nRevenue integrity or healthcare auditing\nDenials or utilization review\nFamiliarity with:\nDRG
