As we continue to grow our cloud and engineering capabilities, we're looking for an Azure DevOps Engineer to support the development, deployment and ongoing improvement of secure, scalable cloud platforms and delivery pipelines for our clients.\nThis is a hands-on engineering role focused on Microsoft Azure, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automation and cloud infrastructure, including Azure Storage and Azure Files.\nYou'll work alongside experienced Cloud Engineers, Architects, Security specialists and delivery teams to automate infrastructure, improve deployment processes and support the delivery of reliable cloud solutions.\nWe're looking for someone with practical Azure and DevOps experience who is comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day engineering tasks, solving technical problems and continuing to develop their expertise.\nKey Responsibilities\nBuild, configure and maintain Azure cloud environments and infrastructure.\nDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep.\nCreate, support and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.\nAutomate infrastructure provisioning, configuration and application deployments.\nConfigure, manage and support Azure Storage services, including Azure Files and storage accounts.\nSupport cloud-based file shares, storage permissions and hybrid file storage solutions.\nTroubleshoot storage connectivity, access, permissions and performance issues.\nAssist with file storage migrations and integration with existing infrastructure.\nSupport the development of reusable infrastructure modules and deployment templates.\nImplement automated testing, security checks and quality controls within deployment pipelines.\nApply DevOps and DevSecOps principles across engineering activities.\nWork with Architects and senior engineers to implement cloud solutions based on agreed designs.\nSupport Azure networking, identity, compute, storage and security services.\nConfigure and maintain monitoring, logging and alerting across cloud environments.\nInvestigate and resolve infrastructure, pipeline and deployment issues.\nSupport infrastructure changes, upgrades and platform improvements.\nContribute to containerisation and modern application deployment practices where appropriate.\nMaintain technical documentation, deployment procedures and operational runbooks.\nWork collaboratively within Agile delivery teams and contribute to continuous improvement.\nRequired Experience & Skills\nHands-on experience working with Microsoft Azure in a cloud engineering or DevOps role.\nPractical experience using Azure DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines and repositories.\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep.\nUnderstanding of automated cloud deployments and infrastructure provisioning.\nWorking knowledge of Azure services, including networking, identity, compute and storage.\nWorking knowledge of Azure Storage services, including Azure Files and storage accounts.\nUnderstanding of file sharing, SMB connectivity, access permissions and storage security.\nExperience with Git and source-control practices.\nGood understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD processes.\nSome experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash or Python.\nUnderstanding of cloud monitoring, logging and troubleshooting.\nAwareness of cloud security principles, identity and access management, RBAC and secure configuration.\nExperience investigating and resolving technical infrastructure or deployment issues.\nUnderstanding of cloud reliability, scalability and availability.\nExperience working within Agile or multidisciplinary engineering teams.\nGood communication and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently on defined tasks while collaborating with senior engineers and technical specialists.\nDesirable Experience\nMicrosoft Azure certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-104 or AZ-400.\nTerraform certification or equivalent practical experience.\nExperience with Azure File Sync and hybrid file storage environments.\nExperience migrating traditional file shares to Azure Files.\nFamiliarity with Azure Storage networking, private endpoints and identity-based authentication.\nExperience automating Azure Storage configuration using Terraform, Bicep or PowerShell.\nExposure to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Docker or Kubernetes.\nExperience with Azure Landing Zones or enterprise Azure environments.\nFamiliarity with GitOps practices.\nExposure to policy-as-code or automated governance.\nExperience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics or Application Insights.\nUnderstanding of automated security scanning within CI/CD pipelines.\nExperience with Microsoft Entra ID.\nExperience with configuration management or automation tooling.\nExperience working within public sector, financial services or other regulated environments.\nExposure to UK Government security requirements.\nSecurity Clearance\nDue to the nature of some of our client engagements, candidates must be eligible and willing to obtain and maintain UK Security Check (SC) clearance.\nCandidates who already hold current SC clearance are particularly encouraged to apply.\nWhat We're Looking For\nWe're looking for an Azure DevOps Engineer who enjoys hands-on technical work and is motivated to develop their cloud engineering capabilities.\nYou'll have practical experience working with Azure, CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code, alongside an understanding of Azure infrastructure and storage services.\nYou don't need to be an expert across every Azure service or have extensive architecture experience.
