As a Data Scientist focused on Spot Pricing, you will be driving the evaluation and development of the real-time pricing engine we use to bid on spot freight put up for auction by shippers. You will need to collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, operations, business stakeholders, and other members of the Data Science team to solve problems, create efficiencies, and successfully deliver against high organizational standards.\nWhat the Candidate Will Do\nPerform analysis to understand emerging trends in the digital marketplace\nPerform statistical analysis to estimate the impact of changes to our spot pricing algorithms before deployment\nDesign, execute and analyze A/B and marketplace experiments to directly measure the business impact of changes to our pricing algorithms on both financial and operational metrics\nWork efficiently at scale with large data sets \nCollaborate with cross-functional teams such as product, engineering, and operations to drive system development end-to-end from conceptualization to productization\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics or related field\n3 years of related experience\nExperience with SQL, Python\nPreferred Qualifications\nMasters with 3 years of experience or Bachelors with 5 years of relevant experience\nExperience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow)\nExperience with Spark\nAdvanced knowledge of experimental design and non experimental causal inference techniques\nStrong presentation skills\nExperience working in a digital marketplace and/or dynamic pricing domain\nBenefits & Compensation for U.S. Employees\nEmployees working more than 30 hours in the US at Uber Freight are eligible for benefits like a company sponsored health plan, dental and vision benefits, 401k match, financial and mental wellness benefits, parental leave, short- and long-term disability coverage, life insurance and more.
