Overseeing a diverse portfolio of customer accounts, you will be responsible for balancing exceptional customer service and on-time performance with operational efficiency-maximizing margins, controlling costs, and managing load volumes. We are looking for a seasoned leader with deep intermodal knowledge who can champion employee development, foster cross-functional partnerships, and deliver an unparalleled experience that consistently meets the evolving needs of our clients.\nWhat the Candidate Will Do\nStrategic & Financial Leadership\nReview, analyze, and own all matters related to delivering measurable cost savings and containment to both the customer and Uber Freight.\nOversee the operational strategy and ensure flawless execution.\nRetain ownership of customer service goals and conduct business reviews (creation, development, and presentation).\nUnderstand and apply all aspects of customer contracts to maximize ROI over the lifecycle of the partnership.\nOperational Excellence\nActively participate in new account reviews and assist the team in preparing for customer-facing meetings.\nPartner with stakeholders to standardize onboarding processes, including systems applications, SOPs, and account governance.\nProactively identify operational bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement solutions regarding processes, cost, service, and profitability.\nSupport determining eligibility for additional non-committed freight to be awarded to intermodal services and actively champion these awards.\nTeam Leadership & Development\nLead efforts to hire, develop, retain, and engage a highly productive team through performance management, mentoring, and cross-training.\nEngage with the leadership team as business partners to discuss career development, current performance, and cross-functional training opportunities.\nMonitor team accountability for key job functions and administer internal performance management reports.\nCustomer & Partner Success\nCollaborate with commercial and client engagement stakeholders to maintain and grow Uber Freight’s business, incorporating the ROI delivered to the customer.\nBuild and maintain positive partnerships with carriers, ensuring strict adherence to Uber Freight processes and procedures.\nCultivate strong internal and external relationships to drive retention, operating with a Customer Obsessed mindset to deliver exceptional outcomes.\nBasic Qualifications: \n8-10+ years of dedicated experience in the intermodal transportation sector, with a strong focus on rail freight and logistics operations.\n5+ years of proven managerial experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.\nStrong track record in customer-facing roles, with expertise in establishing, monitoring, and optimizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive service excellence.\nDemonstrated experience leading and executing strategic initiatives that align operational performance with business growth goals.\nDemonstrated experience leading a team through system migrations and efficiency driving technology enhancements. \nPreferred Qualifications: \nBachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.\n5+ years of people leadership experience, specifically managing people leaders.\n10+ years of experience in transportation and logistics operations.\nExperience managing complex customer accounts within a 3PL and 4PL environment.\nAdvanced working knowledge of Tableau or similar data visualization platforms.\nDeep understanding of P&L statements, operational metrics, and financial performance management.\nProven track record of leading cross-functional operational improvement initiatives.\nBenefits & Compensation for U.S. Employees\nEmployees working more than 30 hours in the US at Uber Freight are eligible for benefits like a company sponsored health plan, dental and vision benefits, 401k match, financial and mental wellness benefits, parental leave, short- and long-term disability coverage, life insurance and more.
