This role is for someone who takes extreme ownership of their work, stays resilient through shifting priorities, and is motivated by the opportunity to build scalable, world-class accounting processes.\n\nWhat you’ll do\n\nManage and oversee a team to complete the month-end close process, ensuring the accuracy of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting packages.\n\nNavigate and resolve complex accounting problems across the business, providing technical guidance to cross-functional partners while balancing short-term urgency with long-term scalability.\n\nLead high-impact process improvement and automation projects, partnering with FinTech to design and implement financial systems that reduce manual debt and increase efficiency.\n\nOwn the internal control environment by performing and maintaining SOX controls, ensuring all global accounting processes are audit-ready and compliant with Uber’s policies.\n\nCoach and develop a team of Senior Accountants, setting high performance bars and providing real-time feedback to help them grow through the unique challenges of a global tech environment.\n\nCollaborate across disciplines-including Tax, Payroll, and Financial Risk Management-to unblock dependencies and ensure consistent financial results across various legal entities and regions.\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.\n\n6+ years of operational accounting experience in a public accounting firm or a multinational corporation.\n\nSolid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, public company audit requirements, and financial statement analysis.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, etc.).\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nCPA certification.\n\nExperience implementing or operating in a SOX effective environment.\n\nPast experience as a people manager, driving performance in a complex environment.\n\nExperience with Oracle or other large-scale ERP systems in a high-volume corporate environment.\n\nDemonstrated ability to independently resolve complex problems and influence senior management decision-making.\n\nStrong systems thinking with experience in managing outsourced service providers (GBS).\n\nFor Dallas, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $131,000 per year - USD $146,000 per year.\nFor San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $146,000 per year - USD $162,000 per year.\nFor all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan.
