As a Software Engineer II on the OFD Feed UX team, you will build and ship user-facing features on the Uber Eats Home Feed on the web, the first thing millions of customers see when they decide what to order. You will work with design, product, backend, and data science to turn ideas into fast, accessible, and reliable experiences. You will own features end to end, from technical design and implementation through experimentation, launch, and iteration.\nAbout the Team:\nThe OFD Feed UX team owns the Uber Eats Home Feed experience. Our mission is to make Home Feed the most useful starting point for discovery & inspiration: helping customers make better decisions, explore the breadth of what Uber Eats offers across restaurants, grocery, and retail, and find more of what they care about.\nWe build the surfaces that shape discovery for millions of customers, including carousels, shortcuts, billboards, store and item collections, and innovative new UX formats.\nWhat You'll Do:\nBuild, ship, and iterate on Home Feed features for Uber Eats web using technologies like React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.\nOwn features end to end, from technical design and implementation through A/B experimentation, launch, and follow-ups.\nPartner with designers, product managers, backend engineers, and data scientists to turn product ideas into polished, data-driven experiences.\nImprove web performance, accessibility, and reliability, including page load, rendering latency, and observability.\nWrite clear design docs and conduct thoughtful code reviews to keep quality high.\nShare ownership of the systems the team runs, including on-call, operations, and maintenance.\nMinimum qualifications:\nBachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field OR 2+years full-time Software Engineering work experience, WHICH INCLUDES 1-year total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:Programming language (e.g. JavaScript or TypeScript)\nModern web frameworks (e.g. React, VueJS, or Angular), plus HTML, CSS, and web APIs\nTechnical skills:\nRequired:\nUnderstanding of modern web application architecture, including rendering strategies, state management, and client-server data flow\nAlgorithm and data structure fundamentals, including hash tables, trees, stacks, queues, linked lists, DFS, and BFS\nStrong written and verbal communication skills in English\nPreferred:\nExperience with back-end systems (e.g. Go, Python, or TypeScript/Node.js) to work across the stack\nWeb performance optimization (e.g. Core Web Vitals, server-side rendering, bundle size)\nExperimentation and analytics (A/B testing, metrics, observability tools such as Grafana)\nExperience with large-scale consumer products such as e-commerce, marketplaces, or discovery/feed experiences\nUsing AI tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude) across the development cycle, including code generation, testing, and documentation\nFor San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $171,000 per year - USD $190,000 per year.\nYou will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan.
