This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization, contribute to the success of our team, and champion data governance practices.\nAs a Senior member of the team you should be able to work through different areas of Data Engineering & Data Architecture including the following:\nData Architecture & Modeling - Understand existing sources & data models and identify the gaps and building future state architecture\nData Pipelines - Building Data Pipelines for several Data Mart/Data Warehouse and Reporting requirements\nData Governance - Build the framework for DG & Data Quality Profiling & Reporting\nData Migration - From Hive/other DBs to Cloud/other DBs and vice versa\nWhat the candidate will do\nDemonstrate strong knowledge of and ability to operationalize, leading data technologies and best practices.\nCollaborate with internal business units and data teams on business requirements, data access, processing/transformation and reporting needs and leverage existing and new tools to provide solutions.\nBuild dimensional data models to support business requirements and reporting needs.\nDesign, build and automate the deployment of data pipelines and applications to support reporting and data requirements.\nResearch and recommend technologies and processes to support rapid scale and future state growth initiatives from the data front.\nPrioritize business needs, leadership questions, and ad-hoc requests for on-time delivery.\nCollaborate on architecture and technical design discussions to identify and evaluate high impact process initiatives.\nWork with the team to implement data governance, access control and identify and reduce security risks.\nPerform and participate in code reviews, peer inspections and technical design/specifications.\nDevelop performance metrics to establish process success and work cross-functionally to consistently and accurately measure success over time\nDelivers measurable business process improvements while re-engineering key processes and capabilities and maps to future-state vision\nPrepare documentations and specifications on detailed design.\nBe able to work in a globally distributed team in an Agile/Scrum approach.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor's Degree in computer science or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.\n8+ years professional software development experience, including experience in the Data Engineering & Architecture space\nInteract with product managers, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and help build data infrastructure that scales across the company\nVery strong SQL skills - know advanced level SQL coding (windows functions, CTEs, dynamic variables, Hierarchical queries, Materialized views etc)\nExperience with data-driven architecture and systems design knowledge of Hadoop related technologies such as HDFS, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Hive, and Presto.\nGood hands on experience with Object Oriented programming languages like Python.\nProven experience in large-scale distributed storage and database systems (SQL or NoSQL, e.g. HIVE, MySQL, Cassandra) and data warehousing architecture and data modeling. \nWorking experience in cloud technologies like GCP, AWS, Azure \nKnowledge of reporting tools like Tableau and/or other BI tools.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3853,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":8,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":true},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Transportation & Logistics","Ride Hailing"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-29T04:31:50Z"}],"liveness":{"score":75,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.836,"p_room":0.9,"age_days":2,"expected_fill_days":4,"reasons":["conf:8","velocity","win:mid","comp:brand"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/uber-sr-data-analytics-engineer-tech-data","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/uber-sr-data-analytics-engineer-tech-data.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-01T13:13:59Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":4873,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":127,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-02T00:00:00Z"}}}
