You will also serve as a technical mentor to engineers on the team, raising the bar on quality.\nWhat the Candidate Will Do\n\nLead projects across multiple engineers\nHelp architect the future of the Grocery and Retail Shopping Journey to allow for seamless scalability across large catalogs\nDeliver high quality, performant code that extends the capabilities of Grocery and Retail Shopping\nPartner with stakeholders across a dozen teams to align, build, coordinate, and release highly impactful features\nMentor more junior engineers on best practices\nBasic Qualifications\nPhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field OR 3-years full-time Software Engineering work experience, WHICH INCLUDES 2-years total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:\nProgramming language (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python, or Go)\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n 5+ years of BE experience designing and shipping projects at scale\nExperience working on production critical code bases that are used by 10s of millions of users monthly\nExperience on product teams building highly performant products\nExperience in latency optimizations and solutions that are outside the box\n For New York City, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $202,000 per year - USD $224,000 per year.\nYou will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan.
