You will have opportunities to work across product lines spanning across feed, search, storefront and checkout.\nAbout the Team:\nThe Hydration Platform team operates at the heart of Uber Eats’s technology stack. We build high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems that serve store, item and user data to applications used by merchants, consumers and couriers in real time.\nOur team works closely with Uber infrastructure teams across storage, networking and developer platforms. We develop innovative engineering solutions for complex product challenges. Operating at a scale of tens of millions of requests per second, our platform directly powers core user experiences like home feed, search, storefront and checkout.\nMinimum qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field OR 5-year full-time Software Engineering work experience, WHICH INCLUDES 3-year total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:\nProfessional software engineering experience building and delivering production systems.\nProficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python, or Go).\nDeveloping backend services, APIs, or distributed systems.\nUnderstanding of core computer science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and system design.\nExperience writing maintainable, well-tested production code.\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and cross-functional partners.\nNote the 1-year total of specialized software engineering experience may have been gained through education and full-time work experience, additional training, coursework, research, or similar (OR some combination of these). The year of specialized experience is not necessarily in addition to the years of Education & full-time work experience indicated.\nTechnical skills:\nPreferred:\nExperience building scalable, high-throughput, and low-latency backend systems.\nFamiliarity with micro service architecture and distributed system technologies such as Kafka, Redis, MySQL and Thrift.\nExperience with performance optimization, monitoring, observability, and production debugging.\nExperience in driving cross-team projects.\n For New York City, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $202,000 per year - USD $224,000 per year.\nFor San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $202,000 per year - USD $224,000 per year.\nFor all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan.
