If you lead with clarity, build with heart, and are motivated by the challenge of peak efficiency at unparalleled scale - this is where you’ll make your mark.\nWhat you’ll do\nDesign and build end-to-end systems for orchestration, monitoring, or frameworks that stand the test of massive global scale and high availability.\nProvide deep technical mentorship across the stack, ensuring architecture and implementations are robust, extensible, and secure.\nBuild a world class, extensible multi-cloud compute platform. Collaborate closely with stakeholders in the big cloud providers to influence their roadmaps per Uber’s business needs.\nLearn from, and often contribute to, the leading edge in Linux open source to enable graceful degradation when there is resource contention \nLead and mentor engineers, reviewing code and designs while fostering a culture of continuous learning and humility. You will balance being AI-first while ensuring the quality of our code does not drop.\nBasic Qualifications\n5+ years of professional experience building scalable, fault-tolerant platforms, with a track record of delivering business critical services in the cloud.\nProficiency in Go, C/C++ or Java) and the ability to define organization-wide standards.\nProven experience leading large-scale engineering projects through the entire lifecycle from inception to global productionization.\nExperience identifying architectural gaps and acting as a multiplier to reduce technical debt across the organization.\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.\nPreferred Qualifications\n7+ years of professional experience building scalable, fault-tolerant platforms, with a track record of delivering business critical services in the cloud.\nExperience with operating a large fleet of Linux machines. Hands-on experience with Linux internals or container orchestration.\nExperience building Compute platform in AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI. .\nExperience in designing Linux features that boost fleet wide resource utilization.\nExperience in driving cross-team projects.\n For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $202,000 per year - USD $224,000 per year.\nYou will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp.
